Get rid of “eliminations” and replace it with kills. And include “eliminations” in the assist category. It is insanely dumb for an FPS game to have essentially 2 “assist” categories on the scoreboard and no kills category…
It’s so annoying when you look at your eliminations, see that almost all of them are final blows, which means that the rest of your team is just not securing any kills and ask your teammates to switch.
And they respond “I have as many elims as you and more damage, I’m doing way more than you, YOU should switch”… like bro, if I wasn’t securing EVERY kill, your “elims” would be 0…
Having high damage and no final blows is actually a very bad thing. But this isn’t reflected at all in the scoreboard… so people that are doing basically nothing think they are playing well because they have lots of “elims” and high damage…
Same issue with tanks that have like 5k damage and 3 elims that then decide to get toxic and say “Why do I have so much more damage than our dps, our DPS suck” when they have 0 final blows… in EVERY FPS game, kill/death ratio is the most important metric… and this game doesn’t even show it on the scoreboard…

People who hate Moira because “she does a lot of damage” should read this lmao
So…you want a more refined scoreboard, not to evaluate your own play, but so you can feel superior to your teammates?
This is exactly why the scoreboard is pointless.

Jup the entire score board is meaningless…
I main widow, I can get 3 picks (final blow or solo) and have 600 damage done while the tank will damage all of them getting a elim just for that and do 1000+ damage trying to kill their tank and it will look like he did everything.
I get harased when Widow atleast 2 out of 3 games even if we win cuz the only thing they see is them having higher damage and roughly the same elims as me even if I would pick their supports each fight we are in… They do not understand as a sniper if I have high damage done I am simply not getting my picks, if I have low damage but the elims match that of the team it means I do my job.
same as healing done where they can completely neglect the DPS to the point u can not win anymore and they will call u out on bad DPS and how high their healing total is while its all on the tank (add healing received)
The entire scoreboard shows nothing of value.

Yeah clearly 1 dude misusing a tool is a good reason to delete Scoreboards because they are not useful. Good one buddy.
No, not really.
Many times doing enough damage to people to force them to retreat opens space or relieves pressure on your Tanks/Supports.
I think they should include KB and “Healing Received” too but thats a different story. Scoreboard is fine as it is. For everything else, theres replays.
Scoreboards and Ping Systems are the best addition to the game so far.
You’re basically reinforcing my point. If they add kills to the scoreboard, your teammates will see that you are actually being very effective on widow and not be toxic and yell at you to switch.
The idea of a scoreboard is good, the execution is bad.
I also want to be able to look at the scoreboard and see who the biggest threat on the enemy team is so that I can try to stop them. But the way it shows stats doesn’t give you that information

I know that was my intention XD Just wanted to add my personal experiance with the scoreboard and how even if I do extremely well they misinterpreted the stats because its all raw numbers and elims are given to you in this game if you simply look angry at them.
High damage and healing done can also show u are giving the enemy ult charge.
Except that “assist” is not the traditional FPS assist.
You can get an assist simply by healing someone and not shooting a single bullet.
Also OW contains supports and tanks. Their primary job is to assist and enable, instead of killing enemies. That’s why they need to somehow be included in the stats.
But I agree that final blows is an important metric and should be added to the board.
The funniest thing is when theres a “Mit” category for damage mitigation, and literally most of the time only the tank will have it.
They sure are wasting effort on useless things.

In OW2, eliminations does mean kills, whereas in OW1, it means 1 damage participation.
My biggest issue with the scoreboard is that I find it very hard to read compared to the old one. Not that I miss the old one, this new one just has so much information and all in small lettering and pictures, it feels impossible to quickly tab to see what’s going on.
I wish they’d return the enemies to the top, my eyes instantly bolt to the top when checking the score board because that’s where the enemy team has been for the past several years now. Or at least make it an option how your scoreboard is oriented.
A lot of this new UI feels really poor. It’s pretty in concept but it’s really annoying once you start using it for a while.

This is why the scoreboard is actively harmful

I would also like to have a final kill line and an objective time too idealy.
No. That is a horrible idea. There will be tons of kill steals and everyone will be picking only high burst heroes like widow and hanzo with no one staying on the objective and then blaming the others for the lose.

Score Boards should also have the following:
~ Objective Time – Who actually helped the game by moving the darn payload!
~ Remove Self Heal – This way, it reflects who is really healing… not just themselves
~ Utility Catagory – People who resed, hacked, or CCed… Something indicating a person who shut down the other team, or really turned a game around, could get noticed.
At this time, it’s gear on who did the biggest eliminations…
I’ll have to admit, when I died as Junkerqueen, and looked at the score board, it ticked by 2 eliminations while I was waiting… That’s just wrong.

There should be a defensive metric, but I agree that MIT is probably not the best choice, because it’s almost exclusive to tanks.
Maybe they replace it with “Healing received”, that’s relevant to all roles and reflects the feeding in some ways.
Ehm no it does not? Add up all the elims of my team and tell me with a straight face the elims you get are only when you get the kill.

you’re right, the eliminations and death count does not match.
No I wanna know why my Kiriko has 2,000 healing and 3,000 damage done vs mercy at 7,000 healing
