Schizophrenics aren't Hannibal Lector

My best friend cannot live with his only surviving family or even talk to them because he is gay.

Implying that gay people do not deal with these issues is just so shortsighted.

I have to assume this is all bait though at this point.

This is also what I’m concluding here as well. There’s a lot of assumptions the OP is making and getting very angry at people while making accusations over nothing. It just seems like bait.

As someone whose actually schizophrenic: i love Sigma’s Asylum skin, it is my fav, it does not offend me.

Exactly It’s a skin made to pay homage to a great movie, thats all.
Any further assumptions are on the person, not blizzard.

To be fair, I think it’s not a reach at all to say “Asylum” is based off Hannibal Lector. Not even just the outfit; his face/head is built the same

This. Not only that but he hears things that aren’t there, which is a symptom of Schizophrenia.

OP isn’t pulling this out of nowhere

I’d like to think its safe to assume as much and considering the similarities the Blizz could get in serious trouble if they confirmed anything.

Considering the majority of the cast are either criminals or veterans of a multi generation genocidal war assuming Sigma is the only one with a mental illness is a bit weird.

You know what a great movie was? schindler’s list Odd I don’t see any characters going around dressed up as any of them.

I mean, I think there can be similar characteristics to without him being “dressed up as” Hannibal Lector.

Depends on severity, but you can have similarities between the two without it being Schizophrenia. Blizz has never said he is schizophrenic, and how he came to his condition leads me to believe he is not schizophrenic even with some of the similarities.

Blizzard does references all the time ex: slasher: 76. I’m pretty certain it’s meant to be a reference.

Technically what he’s hearing is the melody of the universe which he tapped into by experimenting with the black hole, it’s their but no one or not many are tuned into it. Its not a sound his mind is just creating.

Can you not realize how like straight up ludicrous this sort of comparison is?

Horror movies must offend you so much I can’t imagine.

I’d doubt it, he doesn’t strike any resemblance to anything, but it could be possible.

Do you think a historical drama based around the holocaust and the very real people involved is just like a completely fictional horror movie?

Huh? How does it not resemble anything? Slasher 76 resembles horror movie type antagonists. Sigma’s Asylum skin resembles a LOT hannibal lector. MANY people were asking for that sort of skin. Like wtf.

Likely because it’s a movie about the holocaust and well, you can see the implications of dressing up like someone from that era.

Hannibal Lector is a fictional character.

They have basically the same face. It’s a clear reference.

Sure but fiction often tackles issues without directly using them, using something similar enough we can recognize it but different enough to be a step removed.

For one thing it lets audiences think about it from a safe distance. And for another they don’t have to get it right and can adapt the close-thing to fit their story.

Sigma is clearly meant to depict illnesses like Schizophrenia even if he doesn’t directly have it in favor of some made up illness. Just like Omnics are meant to represent minorities even if they aren’t a specific one.
