S9 hot takes(real discussion, constructive, stay on topic)

Ball is very good right now, but it’s not because of the healing passive, it’s because the dps passive effects him less than other tanks since he’s always moving taking health packs, while other tanks are much easier for dps to just shoot constantly debuffing them.

I come back after awhile and the thread has been lost. There was already a power creep happening before ow2 but you can have your opinions. it was inevitable because power creep happens in almost every game the longer they last unless the development team just stops bringing out new heroes/content. People even warned them about it, and warned them about the problems with CC even ahead of time and how the more heroes’ in the game they had the more different variations of problems they would cause as it went on. :skull:

1&2- maybe, sounds good on surface but i have put no thought into the consequences of this so no comment.

3- moira pee regen rate is actually a fire take, the amount of times ive run out of pee this season compared to never before just because of the sheer amount of health u have to dump into 800 hp tanks w/ 20% debuff is painful. pee regeneration rate sounds like a really clean way to tune that to feel good without breaking her.

on the other hand for the first time in a while managing resources actually feels like a challenge so maybe its something i should try to adapt to before asking for changes.

nevertheless if that change ever goes through i will appreciate it

4- not a bad idea tbh, altho im not too fussed either way.

5- zen is broken rn for more reasons than discord. he fit the patch well even if he was unchanged. the fact that he has 25 extra hp, 75 damage kick, and enormous balls just makes the whole zen package too strong. discord orb is just 1 part of the massive force of nature zen is rn. you can take away some of his luxuries without touching discord and im sure youd see things change. he might still be broken just because of how the game has changed recently but thats another story.

I’ve been playing Paladins for years. They’ve had similar healing debuff but not only for dps but for all the champions and it’s incremental. The longer the game the more debuff it’s applied (up to 70% healing reduction) So support practically useless in late game.

This is fine.

Thats not the case. The builds of supports should be so advanced, that you should be able to duel everyone. Seris for example with a lot of items is a crazy DPS and in the late game you just DPS. OW is just not build this way.

My hot take is that a lot of people saying that love the patch are playing egregiously overpowered heroes and people who hate the patch are playing horrendously powercrept heroes. The balance is all over the place.

thanks for all the good takes and other replies. Hopefully they do take some time (not a massive amount of time, but enough that they can adjust and tweak a few things). the patch over all feels good but again some things are just a little bit too strong and I think they also know this and are planning fixes. All we can do is wait and see the next patch

Woot!

One of the goals of the recent health increase was to soften some of the burst damage in the game. This is one of those effects that can be very difficult to tune just right, so we’re going to take a small step back in the next patch and lessen the healing reduction from 20% to 15%. We’ll keep an eye on it and go from there.

glad to see them looking at this stuff!
