Rubberbanding Issues

Hello! I seem to be getting some rubberbanding issues (I think) when playing Overwatch. Basically my character keeps moving after I stopped pressing the key, there is a lag when changing direction with the arrow keys, or a lag using abilities. I think it started happening fairly recently, in the last few days.

I don’t see the issue in other games like WoW or Minecraft, so I’m not entirely sure what’s going on.

Here’s the WinMTR Info:

Did the issue happen during this WinMTR? Because it looks very clean, with an average ping of 9ms and worst ping of 16ms at the server hop.

If it did happen, then you’ll want to look into a local issue on the machine causing this. Adding the DxDiag requested at the top of the forum may help with troubleshooting, as well as checking hardware temps.

In addition to what Nicole mentioned I would recommend to try rebooting using Selective Startup which should help identify if this is an input issue caused by something else running in the background.

  1. Press Windows Key+R.
  2. Type msconfig and press Enter.
  3. Select Selective startup and uncheck Load startup items.
  4. Select the Services tab.
  5. Check Hide all Microsoft services.
Note: Skipping this step may prevent your computer from rebooting correctly.
  6. Click Disable all.
  7. Click Apply then click OK.
  8. Click Restart.
