RTX render device lost

Thanks both of you! Checking the DxDiag I am seeing the TDR (Time Out Detection and Recovery errors), which correlates with the Rendering Device Lost error.

The cause of the TDR errors can be due to third party applications, windows, or a hardware concern like memory, overheating, power, and so on. This can make it trickier to diagnose.

During troubleshooting, it is recommended to play in Training modes to prevent any leaver penalties.

@ VirtualLuka, I wasn’t seeing much on the DxDiag file, but there were some Windows Host and MSI Software that was being called. It can help to try closing background applications, running through asystem file checker, and testing Overwatch on a New Admin to reset the Hosts files and much more if there’s any specific issues.

@ Kelem, I am curious, does it help to just run with one monitor with the HDMI cable and unplug the other monitor? It looks like one of the monitors is using a DVI Converter.

The AMD FX™-8320 temperatures should not exceed around 61-62C. Under normal usage it should range from 45-60C when playing Overwatch. If it goes over, this could be the cause of the Rendering Device Lost errors. This could be due to any overclocking or a cooling issue.

The Pile Driver Micro Architecture which the AMD CPU is apart of, is a bit more sensitive when it comes to temperatures. This processor paired with the 2080 may cause bottlenecking and limiting the frame rates can help, but there is limitations with the RTX fully performing to its potential.

The Graphics card temperatures should not exceed 80C before it starts to throttle causing performance or crashing issues. Let’s grab HWMonitor screenshots to check.
