“But first! We must murder frodo! For he is way to helpful. Boromir on the other hand is very stubborn. Lets follow his advice instead!”
My interpretation of how lord of the rings would play out if it were about 2-2-2.
Murder the frodo players so that boromir can be one minded about saving gondor. All while dooming it by not destroying the ring. The ring being implementing 2-2-2.
Taking the ring to gondor is no more the answer then taking 2-2-2 to competitive.
I never made any promises about how long things will take, nor will I. What I said was it would be easier to do. Things that are easier to do usually get done faster and more reliably than things that are harder to do.
I guess all those people who still play chess should move on, right? Consider this: Long term replay value doesn’t mean it has to keep the same individual players throughout its life.
You’re not going to get them any more that you’ll get assurances that the next meta will make everyone forget 222. Like it or not, you’re along for the ride like the rest of us are.
Without assurances that this would be done quickly what possible motivation would I have to WANT 2-2-2? On the idea that some day I would be able to play flex again? Why would I would want to put overwatch on the shelf for a year or two? Why would I come back after a year or two?
Imagine if someone came along and said that Chess was not fun to them because they could not always move the king? That they wanted to play the king only but the game did not allow for that?
Imagine them proposing to grand chess tournaments that there should only be kings on the board. They would look at that person as if they were insane. Why? because playing only kings would be STALE and have no depth.
Just like reducing the options in overwatch removes depth.
Then why on earth should I support it? I am waiting.
Your “creativity” is a small cost to the structure necessary for the matchmaker to work properly and create overall more balanced matches which will have a hugely positive effect on the community in ways you (apparently) can’t even imagine.
‘Result in an unwinnable game’ lol. Like the SO many games where people ignore the fact that they can change and get destroyed by their counter anyway… or like when main support uses his amazing ability to switch and goes dps which removes our main heal source and = loss
Because ROLE Que
Keep casuals away from comp
Can’t wait for 222 neither can all my mates who quit due to the state of comp.
That’s usually necessary because we don’t have 2-2-2 in the first place. When you need to switch it’s because some of you wanted to play DPS but was stuck with a tank and doesn’t know what they’re doing, or vice versa. For example, a diamond DPS player might actually be as good as a plat or gold tank player if they haven’t really played tanks that much. Role lock will eliminate that because in such a situation they wouldn’t be a tank in a diamond game.
That doesn’t guarantee balanced matches. LFG is a gamble; you might strike gold or you can be matched with people you don’t have any chemistry with. You’ll get matched to another 6 stack they might be a seasoned team. Moreover, you might lock yourself to 2-2-2 while the other team plays a non-2-2-2 comp that completely destroys yours. Then what? Locking both teams is necessary for this to work.
Don’t play the game then. You don’t trust Blizzard, why should we care? We’re supposed to trust you? If you don’t trust the developers why do you even expect them to trust your feedback? Who are you?
The thing is, this community literally begged for role lock or some form of 2-2-2 for 1.5 years. The devs have come out numerous times and encouraged us to flex and switch when it is not working. The truth of the matte is IF and I say IF the current system that’s in place now was working then the majority of the community wouldn’t not be asking for role lock. Yes, it is true that some flex players will get the short end of the stick here, but I can tell u this, after this update ask urself would u rather a 2-2-2 or 5dps who insta leave the voice chat and never press q because they all are “flex” players playing dps that day?
If that’s the case your teammate will go down in rank. After a while those players who don’t want to switch or make the right call will land in bronze where they belong.
LFG is a no man’s land. And even if you find a group you will wait forever to fill ungrateful role like tank and matchmaking will take forever. For the lobby things we already did Blizzard gave up a long time ago.
It’s crazy the amount of flex player in this forum discovered in the last two month.
In that regards i totally agree with you. After 3 years of crappy matchmaking, power creep balance, and total ignorance of crippling problems (smurf, toxicity, leaver, cheater…), i don’t trust Blizzard to do anything right. But 2/2/2 is a good try in the right direction.
Let’s hope so. I’m tired to have to carry COD players.
