Role queue time solution

Because if you don’t, No one will play the role.

The issue is always not enough tank players. The solution is making tanks playable. It’s not something any game has really figured out.

One of the reasons MR will keep saying they don’t want role queue is because they don’t have enough tank players (or whatever stupid name they’ve given the role)

Its a problem that people would eventually get over like every major change that has happened look at how much 5v5 has already changed the order of thing it would have been significantly less. And again as new heros are introduced it would allow them to make them in a manner that makes each role more versatile.

This feels like the childish retort of someone who either never played Ow before role queue… Or somethings happened to them that’s meant they’ve forgotten all about it.

And if you’ll you’ve got is some guff about goats, then my point stands.

Doesn’t make it any better. So now I have to play three times as many matches to rank up, and in 2 out of 3 matches, I’ll be stuck with roles I don’t want to play, which will make me salty. Then, in the one match where I finally get the role I actually want to play, I’ll get absolutely destroyed, lose all motivation, and end up uninstalling the game with a sledgehammer via right-click, never to touch it again.

Before ow 2 i was a tank sig main. Hanzo when i could play dps and ana for healer. Tank was fully playable. And often times had the same queue times as healers dps was the only role with exorbitant queue times.

You’re absolutely right, it is my problem—but I’m perfectly capable of making it your problem too. And then what will you do?

We can just agree to disagree. I think forcing people randomly onto roles they have not interest in playing isn’t ideal for a game that wants to have people playing their game.

I get that and am fully aware most wouldn’t like it to start but it would have been a much better system than one tank and wouldnt have changed the game to this extreme

Well it never will be your problem, as the devs will never make the game random roles for everyone.

What could work is simply the motto: first come, first served. All players join the lobby and can pick heroes until the maximum number of heroes for that role is reached. That way, no system would be to blame!

Theoretically, this is already in the game when you create your own lobby!

It does not cause u cannot change mid game

They decide which role they want to play before the game, and they get to play that role in a proper set up of 2/2/2.

So u saying u cant play any role in oq then?

I guess its still better for the base as a whole to have proficiency with at least one hero of each role whether they like it or not. And again it slows one trick ponies from having unreasonable expectations for their team and notice things that they wouldnt originally have because they likely were in that position relatively recently. “Im not getting heals as frequent as i was 2 seconds ago”-“oh our healers are getting hounded by a sombra” “tank is dying quicker now”-“oh theres a widow thats headshotting him let me change”. Instead of “gg no heals” “tank bad gg”

Yeah that would have been a horrible idea.

The entire reason why role queue was introduced in the first place was because Blizzard saw what was plain as day to anyone with a working brain, which was that a game with a set number of players per role is far easier to balance.

If you know for example there are only going to be 2 tanks, you can balance each tank around that reality. That in the majority of games there will only be 2 of them and they have to do the heavy lifting for the tank role and support each other and the rest of their team. Same with DPS and Support. If you know there’s only going to be 2 Support, you can balance them so they can provide party wide healing.

But with open queue, you can’t predict what each team is going to consist of. Maybe it’ll be 4 DPS and 2 Supports. Maybe it’ll be 4 tanks and 2 DPS. Maybe it’ll be 6 Tanks and nothing else. That creates a balancing nightmare.

And that’s why you’re an armchair developer and not an actual developer.

It’ll be another reason for people to leave matches.
Player random queues, gets tank, leaves, requeues over and over until player gets DPS.

Game is immediately uninstalled and good riddance. Terrible idea.

Oh I’m sure there would be massive amounts of leaving before the matches start.

That was also before they had so many different heros 222 system is still the best idea. But im just presenting the upsides of forced queue there will be downsides but theyre negligible compared to 5v5
