Role queue can't come soon enough

This has been happening ever since 2004, so it’s expected at this point.

Yeah, but it’s getting worse. Also, Goats is probably at least partially caused by Tanks being OP to make them more appealing to play.

I never pick tank, i win games with 4-1-1 against 2-2-2.

If nobody is learning something new and they play what they are good at, you win over a team that forces theyr members to play tank.

Ofc if theres a decent tank the dps will have in theory the space upperhand.

I can’t even get a single tank :stuck_out_tongue: Not unless I play it. And I got fed up with that, because there is nothing like sacrificing your fun and playing tank only to lose because the other team had two tanks.

The only 4-1-1 comp that works at all is Hammond and he is incredibly hard to play. Plus you have to have at least one competent DPS and good luck with that.

They aren’t, burst damage and damage mitigation are, and tanks are good with damage mitigation, that’s why tanks seem OP, when they really aren’t.

I dunno, I think tanks are and always have been, which is why the meta is always one functional support away from falling into triple/quad tank but a DPS heavy comp has never ever happened.

I think this is just due to some fundamental design choices, and asymetrical balance. Its not at all that tanks are OP, but synergy has a way of throwing a wrench into balance.

(PS without 2-2-2 it will happen over and over and over and we will never know peace.)

Not really. I use it every day. Unless you’re playing at a weird time queue times are no longer than normal.

So… Complaining that other people don’t want to play tank when you yourself don’t want to play tank. Genius!

Honestly I’m a healer main and I want a role queue with 2-2-2 just so I stop getting grouped with 4 other healer mains all the time.

I’d settle for it only being a solo-q mode since most of the reasons to want Role Queue are solo queue problems.

What exactly is “your version” of role queue.

People cry out for role queue to save them but no one even has a basic design model for the game that would work.

hard to implement role queue in a game where infinite hero swaps are a thing and two of the roles have less then 10 heroes to choose from and one has like near 20. Fun game overwatch will be to play if your a DPS player.

I mean, what do you suggest? Play tank? I did, but it isn’t fun, and it doesn’t solve the issue of not having tanks.

Hero swapping was genuinely the gimmick that derailed this game. I thought it was cute at first, but it has had some LONG lasting implications and fettered design decisions at almost every turn. I wish they scrapped it back when they scrapped no limits.

There is no solution, not as long as players care more about playing what they want, than winning.

Do you play heroes you hate just to win?

I wont play Mercy, but I’ve been lucky that I can just soldier on as Rein/Zen in most comps and do fine.

Other than Mercy, Torb, Sym, I’ll play anyone if its needed.

EDIT: I just won my last game, after, both teams said ‘Yeah Genji/Widow wasnt going to get it done there.’ Like it wasnt close. Yet did the Genji/Widow players swap? Of course not.

Its not the game. The players are ruining it.

Well, the list of heroes I won’t play is just Mercy and Reinhardt. Unfortunately, one of those is obligatory.

You can make do with DVa, Winston, or Orisa I find. I just live for Shatters, so it works out.

Nah, Orisa or Winston just automatically loses against any decent Rein.
