don’t forget spin forever hook was a thing as hook only broke once the target was in front of you. just keep spinning and they are perma stunlocked.

Hook only reels properly if Hog himself can see you. If most of your hitbox is around a corner, hook would definitely break if Hog doesn’t move to still keep his eye on you. From what you said, Hog could still make out most of your character, so from your perspective it looks like you were pulled around the corner; but to Hog it was more of a straight line.
Yeah like others said you can’t hook around corners without the “camera tech”. To be honest I’ve only seen it pulled off consistently in GM. Even cyx will mess it up.
I don’t even bother usually since I’m just as likely to screw it up.
As to the cheap hooks, I play a ton of Hog & Rein. To me, for every robbed hook/you get a bs free one. IMO it evens out just like charge on Rein.
The only dumb thing around here is believing that unbalanced = fun. That and believing anything you just said is true at all. I can still babymode run up to anyone at close range to remove them in seconds as hog and get away because I can outheal the reduced tickle damage. Nothing has changed now quit trying to justify easymode.
If this were even remotely true then why is he wallowing at the bottom of all ranks in win-rate along with Orisa?
I dunno considering she is just as broken as him. Both of their damage reductions need to be reduced even more.
Want things to go back to somewhat normal? Bring back 6 vs. 6 to end the raid boss balance. Yet even that won’t fix hogs horrible game design.
Roadhog spent like 4 years straight as a throw pick in OW1, saw some usage late in OW1’s lifespan and that was enough to tilt a good portion of the playerbase to the point of being horizontal.
They never recovered, just still there crooked and malding.
Am I the only one that doesn’t find Hog’s hook frustrating? Seems so easy to dodge. Also it doesn’t insta kill you anymore. To be honest I think Hog is quite trash after the armor change and needs buff.
No, I’ve never found it too bad. Once I played him for a while then went back to DPS I pretty much never got hooked and was disappointed if I did (usually when hog sneaked off to get an off-angle and I didn’t notice). I’m disappointed if I die more than once to hook in a game.
Sorry, but you are clueless. It is nothing to do with dive that hog’s win-rate is down at the bottom of the tank roster. It was to do with the armour changes mostly, which had a huge impact on the tanks he can play against, along with the fact all other tanks got survivability buffs just after hog got 2 nerfs and his only buff was to pigpen and not related to survivability.
The tanks hog was good against like monkey and rein he is now pretty much garbage against because he just tickles their armour since the changes.
Even if the meta changed to poke or rush, sigma, rein, ram and mauga are all better than hog now. The only tanks he does anything against any more are doom and he can annoy ball (but rarely kill him). Even JQ is picked as a hog counter now and a zarya isn’t going to switch off if she faces hog.
He is garbage and no matter which meta is next, he will remain garbage unless the armour changes they have announced changes that.
The fact that picking Ana on the other team can often just shut him down on her own has always made him a tricky hero to get value from anyway, but the current state of armour has pushed him to the bottom of the tank role with orisa. And the stats show it.
Hog is completely garbage this season, him and orisa are the 2 worst tanks in the game. Dva and winston are out here ruling everything and your complaining about fkn hog??? Crazy to think theres people that will complain over something they dont like and call it op.
