Really?! He is already impossible to kill and you would consider giving him armor?
Small damage increase would be nice but honestly could be fixed in other ways. The hook cooldown reduction should come back since he was nerfed but it also can feel better with fixes.
I think most hog mains, myself included just want his bugs fixed and his consistency upped. His spread and damage are too rng. His hook breaks on nothing or drops people on your head or behind you.
Make his damage more consistent, alter his hit registration or spread pattern. I’m sure it’s one of these or both that causes the rng.
Make his hook less buggy, if I hook a tracer, genji, lucio, or pharah in the open with no los breaking, I should get them brought to me. Not have the hook break on the air.
Fix these and he won’t need a damage increase and his hook will feel better and not wasted for 8s. Hog is in an ok place now, he just needs slight fixes to be perfect.
I also love the idea that i’ve seen floating about in regards to a variable cooldown hook. e.g if you land it but it breaks the cooldown is reduced by half or x seconds.
He is hard to kill, but the amount of ult charge he gives to enemy team is the reason I pick Hog in ranked only when I’m drunk

He doesn’t need any buffs to his durability. He is pretty much perfect there.
The only change I’d want, is a global change to Shotguns in general: Give them a fixed spread pattern.
I shouldn’t be doing less (or more) damage when shooting at a target in the exact same spot just because the pellets were in a slightly different position.
Maybe it only matters <1% of the time, but still, It shouldnt matter ever.
I think hog is in a good place now, I’d mess with other characters before making a pass back at him.
If they tighten his spread just a tad or up his damage just a tad I think he’d be perfect.
Sure, just decrease his damage reduction while healing to 25%.
I don’t think hook should be able to break after connecting. It makes sense for it to need LoS to connect in the first place but there’s no reason it should retroactively miss.

Those problems were solved by adding a LoS check to the initial connection. There’s no reason to keep checking LoS after that.
He’s one of 5 heroes that made the top ten most picked last season in EVERY rank from Bronze to GM. Highly unlikely Blizzard will be changing him anytime soon.

He’s in a really good spot. If they tinker with him at all, it would be a bad thing.
The ONLY thing I could think, is if he cancels his reload too early with his hook, to reload the gun with one scrap instead of leaving it at 0.
6 second hook is all he needs, 8 seconds is too much for how inconsistent the damn thing is… but like that will ever happen. We all know how SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW balancing and fixing stuff on this game is.
The first los hook fix was perfect, you couldn’t get people around walls, if you did get them in the open they always came to you. It was fair. No dimensional hooks.
Now this constant los check just makes it break on even the air.
There is literally nothing wrong with him. He is a completely viable and self sufficient character.
The changes I would like to see are.

Spread reduced by 8-10%
Number of pellets increased to 35 from 25
Hook
cooldown reduced to 5 seconds from 8 seconds
And fix the bugs with his hook. Lots of times I’ve hooked Tracers and Genjis have the stun animation they start to get hooked in only to blink/dash away. There’s also landing hooks on people near doorways/corners only to have the hook break because they walk slightly out of LoS. There has also been plenty of hooks that just break for no reason at all. Also on characters like Lucio, Mercy, Pharah, and Genji if you hook them midair they can wind up above/behind you.
You always get the people appearing saying he’s fine as is without reading things people say. We all know he’s fine. I don’t dispute it and most hog mains don’t. He’s pretty balanced.
We just want bug fixes to make him consistent at his current power level. Imagine landing a hook on that pesky Genji out in the open that’s been harassing you and your supports for a while, it registers as hit, does the sound, but breaks on nothing. Then your hook goes on 8s cooldown. Genji gets away or kills someone that you could have saved had it not bugged.
Or imagine hooking a hanzo or ana at 50-75%% hp and shooting perfectly at them only to have it tickle them. Knowing that every hook you bring in is rng based on how much damage you do. Yea you can aim better/ step forward to help this but sometimes that’s not enough and it’s out of your control.
I put the hook breaking on nothing and going on cooldown as the same feeling mei’s get when they get stunned out of their ice block and it goes on cooldown.
