Best designed tanks in the entire game don’t @me
@Ayanga
roadhog is the 4th worst designed tank. only orisa, mauga and sigma beat roadhog in how garbage their design is.
Hmmm I appear to have been @ed
as much as i like playing ball, his core identity is to be as annoying as possible so he cant be ignored or you die
his mechanics are interesting but idk if as a concept he is well designed. half the time im not even getting elims until the end of a fight (on more coordinated teams), just bullying enemies until they forfeit space or get low enough to attract moths
ball is a great design but numerous gigabuffs have ruined that character. he isnt supposed to be a 5v5 tank stop trying to make him a 5v5 tank and start making 5v5 broken tanks more like the 6v6 tanks
Nobody…
Hog OTPS:
im still absolutely busting a gut laughing maniacally at how current wb can double boop piledrive an entire team full of people to like 30 hp (220 dmg btw). sure it takes lots of skill, a good window of opportunity, and 2 cooldowns, but still. theres also the pinball strats where you just bounce off walls to get the extra boops in record time against enemies that cant even leave the wall you booped them into in the first place
No
doesnt seem like it when i play him
i have to spam peek corners to not explode, hook someone into a box where they die instantly or cant escape because im body blocking their only safe exit
rinse and repeat
Hog is the worst designed hero in the game.
The difference is that Hog is fun. Orisa is boring for most people. Mauga can be fun but is pretty boring with very basic loop. And Sigma is a snoozefest.
Hog and his hook can’t be beaten for fun (and skill - there, I said it).
20m range stun with a giant super generous hitbox
Such skill
Not as big as you seem to think. It’s not that easy to hit hook but the satisfaction of pulling pharah/echo/mercy out of the sky from 19m can’t be beaten.
People always put RH as the no skill hero but go watch decent roadhog players and how they have to be constantly minding their position around cover, timing their hooks and avoiding lots of counters and abilities, then tell me which tanks take more skill. There are some, but not many.
His problem is he survives too well when not against Ana/Zen and people say he is easy because he is hard to kill. Which is fair enough.
Junker Queen’s knife is the actual tank skillshot
It has a lot to do with Hog’s hook physics. It being a straight line with a full stun on it so the hooked player can’t manoeuvre out of it until they’ve been fully pulled in, it’s kind of hard to call it a skillful ability
Following up on a hook is ez. It’s in the same tier as Orisa’s spear. Hook is satisfying to land but just an unhealthy cooldown
I agree, knife is more skillful. But hitting the hook in all sorts of situations, pulling the mercy out of a group, pulling off ledges at full distance, etc. It all takes skill. People know it does. they just want to dunk on hog.
And you can easily tell a skilled hog player from the rest by how careful you have to be and how consistent they are at using their trap and getting combos. You can’t easily tell a skilled Orisa from a bad one for example.
It also ignores any sort of knockback reduction, ironically making another tank one of the worst offenders of cc against tanks
A design almost as good as Lifeweavers…
I wish you could control where you were getting hooked and to compensate Hog’s shotgun could actually be lethal. That would be totally sick and a lot more fun. Get rid of that lame trap, though, or it wouldn’t even matter.
Wow wow wow lets not start lying now.
