Rip Tire Needs All the Nerfs it can get

This thing consistently ruins games on a regular basis. It kills 3-5 people way too much.

It’s uncommon for an NonNano Soldier Ult to kill 3 people and rare it to get 4 or 5. Same thing with McCree. Pharra ults are more miss than they are hit.

Junkrat Ults?? They consistently ruin so many games. A Soldier Ult requires proper positioning, same with a McCree Ult, this thing requires almost zero skill to get value out of. Anyone with half a brain and decent game sense can get a 3 man Tire Kill.

DVA’s Ult has a larger explosion radius but requires a ton of things to go right in order to work.

This thing needs all the nerfs it can get. Whether it be a charge nerf, a damage nerf, or a radius nerf. It needs it all. This thing does way too much too easily and ruins games for eveyone.

The Rat is far from balanced, he still needs a lot of nerfs and this is one of them.

If a junkrat can easily get triple kills with his tire, then the people he’s playing against are god awful. There are so many shields, movement abilities, and other abilities that allow you to escape. If you know junk is close to his out, try to keep your abilities off cooldown, keep a hiding spot in mind, and when he pops it, for God’s sake scatter. If he gets a triple that just means your team was too clumped together.

Only nerf I want is for how long it lasts.

When they buffed the speed they didn’t account for how much ground it can cover now especially with the original time limit in place. So shortening it a little make up for the fact it moves at the speed of light would be good I think

Or you could do what even people in quick match do and spread out. But I guess calling for a nerf is easier.

As I said in another “nerf Rip-Tire” thread, it’s loud, glowy, and destroyable. Apart from that, treat it the way you treat D.Va’s ult: when you see it, scatter.

You know what’s funny? The thing I’ve found that’s best at destroying a Rip-Tire is Junkrat’s concussion mine.

Something tells me you’re fresh from a match with a Junkrat in it

In any case, I play a whole lot of Junkrat and I get triple kills with his tire maybe 2 out of every 10. Assuming it doesn’t get sniped/fire striked/etc the moment I send it around the corner, odds are all it’s gonna find is a group of highly mobile and/or heavily shielded people that it does squat all against. I literally can’t even remember the last time I got anything above a triple kill

But yeah like others have said, it’s as easy as spreading out when you hear “FIRE IN THE HOLE.” Heck sometimes I’ll purposely go running up to the tire since most Junkrats will take the first kill they see, better that it takes me rather than my team

Is that why you have 0 tire kills registered in your career?

Also, most tires are destroyed, and even if visor doesn’t get multi kills, it get kills more consistently, and that’s why their ult kills per game are very similar, with Soldier’s being a little higher.

I just hate the constant spam, it is just so terrible. I miss the days where no one would play him tbh. Horrible to play against.

That part stood out to me as well. People exaggerate too much on this forum, well… in general really. Nobody is consistently pulling off triple kills with junk’s tire. If they are, the enemy team is just downright horrible.

Yes! He doesn’t usually get a three kill from my experience, but two or even one key pick is enough to warrant a nerf. The tires are more successful at taking out a target than they aren’t, you can even look at OWL for examples of this. Even with the 100HP, the tire has insane mobility and is not destroyed very often. Meanwhile, consider a Pharah ultimate that is really powerful, but at a great cost that often leaves her dead halfway before it’s over and only one or two picks to show for it, if that. It also takes longer to charge.

Junkrat is also the only hero where if he dies while his ult is active, Blizzard says, “ok, well you just finish up with what you’re doing there and then you’re out of the fight.” And the picks he can get with it are often way in favour of Junkrat, so it’s not as much an issue if he is taken out.

And a team scattering is a very soft counter to an ult that comes with its own risks. And even if you do scatter, Junkrat has 10 seconds to find his target. It’s not like McCree where you exit his line of sight and you can continue to fight around that. With Junkrat, you have to pull way back in order to reduce your chances of being targeted.

I wish my tires would do that, as soon as I pop it they’ll spread out, no idea why.

Idk why but my past 4 games I counted 23 enemy rip tires and I managed to destroy 12 of them as hanzo, one game on eichenwalde attack enemy junk had 8 tires total I destroyed all of them and he lost and was super toxic and then left right away. I think snipers are best way to destroy tires

An Ultimate being able to kill a single player warrants a nerf? I guess you must want Hanzo’s ult nerfed hard, along with Soldier’s, Pharah’s, Doomfist’s, D.Va’s… most of the cast, really.

Every single Ultimate should present an immediate threat to the opposing team. Otherwise, what’s the point?
