RIP Tire is the most low effort, high reward offensive ult in the game

You just gave me a demonic image.

Imagine Junkrat is about to make a logical decision, then the tire on his back just rumbles and whispers demonic language in his ear, and then thats why he goes to a “BLOW THINGS UP!” mode.

Why not? He isn’t controlling it with his mind. If you look at Junkrat during the ult, he’s just sitting back and plugging his ears. The tire drives itself, and during the ult the player controls the tire instead of the Junkrat.

You’ve now confirmed my suspicion that Junkrat’s tire is a demonic entity.

Inferno Junkrat is practically a demon. Maybe that’s what he looks like when the Tire takes over.

Even if you are right,

It’s also got the lowest effort way to counter it in the entire game, too.

To those saying the tire should detonate if Junk dies:

Killing Junk while he’s using tire is already a soft counter to the ult. By killing him you put his team down 1 player and an ult. That forces him to get more value from his ult than he would have otherwise needed.

If Junk dies in order to make the tire worth it the Junk must get at least 2 kills to make the tire worth it. One kill evens the numbers however Junks team is now down one ult for zero benefit.

There are situations where one kill is an even trade or sometimes a win. Such as killing another ulting hero or a main support. However it’s not the norm.

Lets stop acting like Junk dying somehow doesn’t matter. It does.

Potentially high reward with relatively no risk to the player using it (unless they have some sort of flanker or something) however it’s incredibly likely it won’t do anything at all cos it got shot :man_shrugging:t2:

Personally I put it with tac visor and high noon in that they can have an impact but it’s incredibly easy to shut them down. They’re a situational ability rather than just a straight I win. However, like most of the game I do find the instant speed no momentum 0 degree turning circle rather obnoxious ie the tire is swinging all over the place cos of low DPI. Kinda makes hitting it down to chance like when shooting at someone spamming AD and crouch =\

There’s clips of Junkrats C4 into a whole team and blow them up at least 4 of them.

To be honest his tire gets close to the most value of any ultimate i’ve ever seen.

This.

There are numerous ways to employ tire where players have a literal fraction of a second to deal the necessary damage to stop it- and even at high ranks of play, this can be much easier said than done.

There are also numerous locations on multiple maps where junkets can utilize terrain to entirely negate the engine audio of the tire- allowing it to drop on targets with no audio queue.

Point is- tire is powerful. It’s difficult to stop at low-mid tiers due to the lack of mechanical capability with most players to properly destroy it on time

At high tiers junkyard know how to work around it’s short comings.

Now don’t get me wrong. I don’t think junkrat is overpowered at all, and I don’t feel he needs nerfed.

If anything junk rat is bad overall, and despite what is IMO a powerful ult, his kit itself is what makes him “enh”.

I do feel his ult is a part of what holds him back from receiving meaningful changes that he could benefit from in his core kit.

If you die to the tire, the junkrat deserved that kill, and you deserved to die.

Shoot the tire, that junkrat has to work so much harder for that kill than you have to not to die to it.

Only worse ult in the game is maybe high noon.

Watch Junkrat in high level games - his tire at least half the times gets deleted before getting even one kill. Maybe if you can’t handle Rip Tire, you are just bad at the game.

He already has a set in HotS, so they would even have a good starting point.

Oh come on, ruining a support players day takes a lot of skill.

Fun fact it has 100hp and if you kill Junkrat while his tire is out, the spawn timer doesn’t start till the tire is dead.

Huh, that makes sense, but I never really thought about it

Actually, I think Baptist’s lamp is the most low effort, high reward ult in the game…oh wait!
