RIP Junkrat: Look at what they did to my boy

Erm, WHAT??? In old days it was even tactical suicide over enemy group to spam them with dropped grenades from the dead body, and score multi kills. Peaople whined on it, they removed it - Junkrat players were OK with that, it was too powerful tactic.

Sorry Merle, but i was very supprised after reading Your post.
If anyone still don’t understand our point - We don’t complain about riptire nerf, it gets killed very easly if seen anyway. We point that they say Junkrat should AIM and whenever they want to prove it should be done they link films with junkrat firing into stationary target, which is very far from reality, and what is more - they show it from close/mid range. They should film that when the target moves and watches grenades and if they will hit him… I’d love to be able to aim with grenades, it would be so much easier and more reliable, I would really be happy if Blizzard would finally made Junkrat to be able to aim-hit the target. But we are at the point when Junkrat aim-miss the target 99% of time, so talking about aim is laughable. Junkrat aim works only on stationary targets, and it’s available only on EASY MODE or on trapped target. Junrat is the most countered hero in the game, so many heros has loads of skills to free-kill junkrat already, and jukrat is unable to aim at them.
Well, for me it looks like Junkrat will go to where Mei and Torb is - very unreliable hero, picked on low rates, because higher rated players will just destroy him with ease in any range. I bet that in OWL Junrat pick rate will drop drasticly or close to zero when this patch will be released in the ligue, because pro players don’t like to have something unreliable in the team.

It’s like people did not bother with the PTR forum, Junkrats know about this, and that was not the issue we had. People knew about the tickrate/missle clipping issues and actually mentioned them frequently. If they fixed that, then fine.

i don’t see it as a nerf, if anything it makes me play junkrat better. maybe aim your ‘spam’…er well calculated shots better.

Finally!
This braindead hero should be nerfed even more.

The real problem with junkrat was simply the fast ultimate gain, all they had to do to fix it, is increase the ultimate charge requirement.
Now they just gutted him back to F tier.

All junkrat is good now is getting up close to someone and combo shot with the mine, but for close range killer you have other heroes better suited for that.

I don’t know why anyone would pick him over the new hanzo or a pharah.
Heck even a grounded pharah is just as good for area denial now.

I don’t understand why they nerfed him so harshly.

They’re worse than most people think. It was a 33% radius reduction, not a 33% area reduction, since it’s spherical it actually results in more than a 50% area reduction. Supposedly this makes it similar in size to Pharah’s rockets, except it is exactly half their speed, arc slows them down further due to greater effective distance to travel, and they cannot be detonated off of terrain on a miss like Pharah either.

What it hits more than anything is trying to hit a target at 15 meters or so in the open, as it is his projectile speed is low enough(17.5 meters per second) that it takes nearly a second to reach anyone past 15 meters, combine that with halving it’s area, and making his mines only able to finish targets in their inner 1.33 meter radius(and having the same pitiful 17.5 MPS speed), and any reliability he had, which was already little, is gone.

But rejoice, because they didn’t hit his bounces, his splash radius or damage, or anything like that, so his spam is virtually untouched. I hope you guys like spamrat, because what this nerf and the previous one really did was make it the only option. You can’t miss a choke, you can’t miss a barrier, but you sure as hell can miss someone with a slow as hell projectile in an open area, and they just made that much, much more difficult. I thought you guys wanted him to aim more, but to succeed, now he needs to spam like never before, and Blizzard didn’t listen because that’s what they want.

At this point, the reward for getting good with him is gone. No matter how well you try to lead or aim, it’s out of your hands, it’s up to your opponent being dumb. If I am giving my enemy a full second to react to a projectile that is smaller than it’s visual size now and they still can’t avoid it, then they’re a moron. And of course, you see less and less morons the higher up you go. So Junkrat will still be king of bronze, and nowhere else, because apparently it’s better to have him ruin all lower play and become virtually useless for higher play, than to actually try to balance the character.

The only difference I’ve noticed is how slow the tire is. As for the grenades being smaller I haven’t really noticed any difference I’m still landing my shots.

I can’t hit anyone with junkrat. It’s like shooting rocks and not hitting anything at all. Hes pretty much garbage at this point for me. RIP old friend.

I tried out the new Junkrat and wreck face with him. I find the change virtually insignificant. Also I’m a 500 hour Pharah player.

Right to the point :+1: !

It is not supprising that people from lower tiers don’t see any difference, because their enemies walk into bombs themselves without paying attention to it, but the higher You go, less likely they kill themselves on the random grenades. The higher You go, the more planning and geometry predition is needed to hit the target (thats the coolest about Junrat playstyle), but the target can clearly see it coming and easly avoid being hit when he have at least second to move (bigger grenade slightly compensated it’s slowliness).

I wonder if higher tier players would pick Tracer so much if it would have slow blink animation, like it would animate for a 0.75 sec to where it would show up… I bet she would be dead meat after that 0.75 sec travel - thats what it look like with grenade, it is easly predicted when it flies, because it is so slow.
Balance the hero - OK. Making it trash-pick for higher rates - NOT OK.

PS: I bet no one who is happy with the junkrat nerfs ever considered one fact which is very annoying for junkrat’s players - whenever You aim and hit the target, the target gets bounced in some direction, so next grenade MISSES THE TARGET for SURE (if it is shot in the same direction), so Junkrat has NO WAY of AIMING, because IT WILL MISS for SURE - unless target is braindead and run into next grenade by himself, being unaware he has been bounced by grenade - in higher tiers people instantly notice being hit by grenade and avoid any incoming “aimed” grenades. That bounce help Junkrat’s enemies, it does not help Junrat AT ALL (it can’t even drop target off the cliff, because no one runs close enough to the edge…). Or give Junrat aim-assist like Widowmaker has, when the pointer “ticks” when the target is to be 100% 1-shotted - it would be harder for the system thought, because grenade IS SO SLOW, that target would be elsewhere in the time grenade travels the distance (actually aim-assist would not be fun, when system is playing instead of the player, thats why i dont pick Widow - no fun with that system-cheat). But well, it seems some heroes can have more benefits from the game system then others and people are weirdly ok with that.

I hope You can say the same thing when You get into higher tiers. :disappointed_relieved:

I’m happy you didnt get to see 8 second genji ult and triple jump then.

You mean Junkrats have to learn how to aim…
Even though they’ve been so defensive with “WE KNOW HOW TO AIM! WE HAVE TO PREDICT OUR SHOTS” until a nerf forces them…
To continue to aim.

Good. Now remove the pc aim assist for every projectiles (aka absurdly huge hitbox) and the game may become a bit more serious.

Spoken like somebody who has never played him before and after his nerfs.

Junk nerfs online now ? I didnt noticed anything. I carried last few games with junk.

I’m predicting a Junkrat meta, because his rip tire is broken, and Brigitte can’t kill it.

The riptire is so slow now, that unless it’s coming from a top angle as a surprise, it can be shut down very easily.
