Reverting Mercy is, IMO, the best option to balance Mercy

Do you have proof on that? How can you say it? Did you do research on it?

or the problem is that she is also the most reliable healer.
she is the most likely healer to get out of dodge when jumped.
she has the easiest time getting to teammates that are in trouble.
she can heal through shields and around corners.

mercy has a lot more going for her than res. its not the only thing that could be tweaked to bring her in line.

You can take current res and just widen the scale people complain and hate current res now if mass res had a cast time people wouldn’t like it

People don’t hate mass ress because it’s bad. People hate it because it’s too powerful…

So why do you hate current res then it has a cast time and everything and people hate it

Single target res too powerful multi res not powerful???
I’m confused :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

-It’s not Mass Rez;
-It’s OP as hell, even with a cast time because it’s just in a time limit therefore denying any difference between a good Mercy and a bad Mercy;
-Valkyrie is boring, annoying, take away any skill you would need to play Mercy and was even scraped before the game came out because of how bad it was.
Do you want more?

She wasn’t a must pick with Mass Rez; She’s literally the definition of must pick now, do you get why?

To be more specific people on the forums complain about res making them stand still like a statue being defenseless on single res people expect it’s to be powerful but if mass res had a cast time they would feel statuesque and would die a lot more and that leads to more complaining

Ofc you are. Single target rez on a 30 second CD is too powerful. Multi target rez on an earnable ultimate is alright given that blizz change it up to give it some counter play which is why I suggested a cast time. Also, those who complain that Mercy is a statue are complaining because her cast time contradicts one of the points made in the Mercy rework developer video. Blizz didn’t like the fact that Mercy’s would stop healing her team to hide but then make it so she’s basically stationary for 2 seconds. Add those seconds up and you’d have wasted time not healing for a significant amount of time.

Then, again, you have no proof on that last statement simply by the fact that it never happened in the real world.

There was an enormous risk to Mercy that scaled with the number of dead teammates. I see you’re on PSN. Do you have any idea how hard it was to get on the point for a mass res with Mercy as the only one left alive in high-tier PC games where everyone can aim and is using a mouse? Did you play before Mercy got her invulnerability during Resurrect, and was basically guaranteed to die for flying out into the open whether or not she actually got the rare 5-man res off in the process?

High noon and death blossom are both amazing ultimates when used properly mid-fight, just like Resurrect was useful to get only 2 allies back up and keep the fight momentum going. If you actually use High Noon properly instead of waiting for all the targets to become skulls, you’re basically guaranteed at least one kill against a squishy when you use it. Deathblossom, like High Noon, is best used in high-tier play not as a gimmicky opener from a flanking position but rather as a finisher after Reaper has already joined the fight and has either weakened targets or already eliminated someone who could stop him, like Zen.

That doesn’t mean you can’t sometimes get away with the classic drop-down-and-press-Q Reaper play or flanking High Noon in most ranks, but it’s definitely not the most efficient way to use the heroes, just like total non-participation in the fight (the mythical hide-and-res strategy everyone actually complained about) and then coming back in late for the res was a horribly inefficient way to use Mercy’s kit.

Rip tire’s hiding mechanic is a bit different than Resurrect, but the principle is the same: Junkrat is vulnerable when he is ulting. Mercy is ALWAYS vulnerable, because she is unable to heal herself while taking damage. Have a look at how Mercy plays now, without mass resurrect. She still hides just around the corner, all game long, because that is how her entire kit works. That’s how her entire kit was designed to work from the ground up, from the very beginning.

As for your remarks on Sombra, you’re saying that her hide-and-ult kit is acceptable because other parts of her kit are weak? Well, as it turns out, Mercy is actually pretty weak outside of res. She’s the only hero in the game who is effectively defenseless. No other hero requires waiting for a weapon swap timer before they can shoot back, and the only healer with lower potential healing is Zen. The only reason Mercy heals for more than other healers over the course of a game is because she spends almost 100% of her time tending her teammates’ health bars instead of shooting at the enemy. She was made to be hunted, and she was made to be able to run from the hunters. Without mass res, though, there is no incentive for Mercy to be the last one alive. The hunt no longer matters.

Please watch this video. It’s not mine, but it was linked on forums within the past few weeks and it’s the best thing I’ve seen to show how Mercy’s Resurrect ultimate was good and healthy for the game.

Not necessarily people complain about dying to brig widow hanzo all last season and its still happening but not as frequently I just read the forums

But how that applies to a “Mass Rez under a cast time” situation? I mean, of course you can speculate, that’s pretty much what you’re only doing on that matter, but that’s just speculation that doesn’t have my h weight.

It taking the logic of people dont like cast time on res and taking it to its conclusion

You’re acting as if these players who complain about the cast time make up the majority of the Overwatch community. No. Just like how Mercy mains were forced to relearn their hero a couple hundred times, people need to learn that adding cast time to res was for the great or good.

Yes, make it so that she hides behind a corner revives the team, great gameplay influence! (It was fun to use, but made mercy have a more boring playstyle).

I would rather have valkyrie buffs than a mass rez revert, mass rez was an awful time and I liked valkyrie much more!

I know it sucks now but it is way more fun to use and influences better gameplay styles then mass rez, where you hide behind a corner.

Lowkey what current Mercy does. Hides behind corners and resses…

Lol in your dreams. Right now the only changes current Mercy will be receiving are nerfs.

Did you even watch the videos I linked? Specifically the 2nd one regarding the funness of Mercy?

Also, how tf did it influence better gameplay? Can you read my post and watch everything I linked before you reply to it…

I played a lot of mercy during season 5, she was overall pretty boring with a hide and seek ultimate. Mass res will just keep dive alive for 10 more years. which is not ideal ;(
