Revert support HP nerf

Mercy and moira are both dogwater supports and every game has ana, kiri, bap, juno
Why excatly did we nerf some supports without actually strong tools to 225 hp?

Back after a month or so break and I am so disheartened

How about we nerf the rest of the objectively strongest heroes down to Mercy and Moira’s level, instead?

LMAO support hp should go even lower. They have better survivability than anyone. Kiriko literally can teleport through ten walls ,wall climb and Suzu. Mercy has guardian angel has absurd mobility with guardian angel and has a ridiculous healing factor. Ridiculous opinion

Alright, then here are the changes.

  • Moira
    • Alt-fire damage reduced to 50, lifesteal reduced to 20.
  • Mercy
    • Damage boost reduced to 25%
    • Healing reduced to 50/s

survivability and dodging doesn’t matter too much against any hitscan. If their HP gets any lower then picking the Support role will literally be a nerf to your team then since you’d need to play it so safe and hope a winston or d.va doesn’t dive in and take you out even faster. Let alone a widowmaker bodyshot could cause chaos. Thats also not counting junkrat shots that can reach up to i think about 130 to 150 for just 1 hit.

TBH they just need to reduce kikoro’s movement a tad so she can’t just fly halfway across the map and through walls at the same time. Literally of course.

In a way if a support can’t live then what would the point of the role be anyways. Just to stop enemies with anti and sleeper darts? immortality only? And finally, some supports literally can’t poke to compensate for lower HP.

mercy has to be not exactly up close but needs LOS and to constantly heal, if the HP gets lower she can’t even poke without more range and she needs constant LOS which would prevent her from using cover. Requiring mobility and HP

Lucio would be even worse since his healing is abysmal currently. aaand really can’t poke either. Well, without 6 players his healing capabilities have massively dropped and hasn’t been buffed yet so… ( Lucio can Poke Damage but thats not really supporting much sadly )

I mostly just play support TBH so don’t mind me but this is my perspective anyways.

By that logic Genji and Venture should go down to 225 HP too :upside_down_face:

the age of healers is long dead sadly. they added a few to many high damage supports and haven’t made much of an incentive to focus on healing. It’s all damage now with extra damage or throw your time away hitting an ally with healing.

i feel sorry for tanks especially, they always come to me for HP and i heal them but i always see teammates just all damage and no healing. causing whole teams to crumble because…

thats just how it’s designed now. Heck, even the Auto Heal on All Characters is even worse because now not only do you not have to focus on healing but it drives even more people to just damage and let auto heal do all of the healing work. almost making mercy and such not irrelevant but… redundant. completely and utterly redundant…

Moira is one of those heroes who simply gets worse everytime a new support is added, she was able to hold up within Overwatch 1 as a decent pick until they added Baptiste who was better for his high AOE healing output. No amount of nerfs to other supports or buffs to her is going to change this.

At this point she’s pretty much meant to onboard newer players to the support role until they’re more comfortable with playing the stronger and more mechanically demanding picks.

Just revert all the HP changes since S9.

You are right. Although… She is sorta the bane of any genji player who is trying to focus down other squishy supports hahahah!

I play in masters on console and most if not all Genji players just slaughter her for even thinking about trying to challenge him. She’s good into him mainly because of her escape and self sustain.

Supports need to be reasonably pickable. We already have a ton of mobility and ways to deny damage on top of passive self heal. I’d rather we have less health than boost up the passive again.

Ana and kiri are not the strongest supports in the game, this is why we don’t balance for low elo, i am low diamond dps so I’m good at best and from there all the way to champion all anyone plays is brig juno. I agree mercy and moira trash though and mercy especially needs changes because you don’t see any mercy players in diamond or above

mercy and moira need kit buffs, not survivability buffs tbh

No I am a diamond genji one trick on PC and over time she’s got easier to deal with, if you can headshot+ melee her consistently and then bait out her fade in a 1v1 you can kill her really quickly. Heroes like brig and weaver are a lot more difficult for genji to deal with since they’re all about denial

Lol

Your masters 5 peak on support is not impressive

What do you mean? OP said that Mercy and Moira -who are healing secondary supports- are bad right now, and that Ana, Bap and Juno, three of the highest healing supports (two of which are traditional ‘main healers’) are insaneo.

‘age of healers’ was just a period of around a year or so when the support role was SO wildly overpowered with almost no contest, so they could just flat up hook you up with an IV line of constant healing. Now the supports can be harassed, so there will naturally be less healing…but there are also other options to play supports who need less hand-holding.

Look at OWC. Healing was very low. We didn’t see heal-creep start to really inch up till Ana came around to be honest. There should be even LESS healing in the game than there is now, but OP is right; Juno is crazy strong and is kind of holding the role hostage.

But OP is also wrong because Mercy and Moira are quite effective, particularly where they are meant to be effective, in lower SR ranks, and in niche comps. The issue really starts at higher SR when the stats show us that, as it has been since her release, it’s basically ‘Run Juno or lose’. Juno, Brig, Ana are overwhelmingly the only strong options in higher SR games, (and have been this way for months), with some Bap and Kiri peppered in. Currently, Juno has the PR in support T500 of nearly the bottom 8 T500 support picks combined. There are only 11 supports! That’s insane. In fact, her T500 PR spiked after her ‘nerf’ in the MSP by 20 slots.

The issue with the support role continues to be the teams ineptitude to balance the clearcut overperformer down to the other supports level. They keep micro buffing things up to the overperformer’s level (or attempt to), which is enormous powercreep. Why did Ana get that buff at all in the MSP? Lmao.

Remove also DPS passive ability. This is the worst ever.
