That’s reading a lot into comments about distinctiveness. You want to read it as balance, when the whole thing suggests in line in terms of having distinctive niches if you want to.
I didn’t refer to any in-game experience, I referred to his statistical values before his buffs went live.
He was already out-performing Mei and Reaper. I gave statistics about his winrate and pickrate. Those can be proven via Overbuff. You can prove that statistically, he didn’t exactly need the buffs.
I also used logic. He now has an immunity combo, something both Mei and Reaper lacked. They are far more predictable because of their lack of mobility.
I’m stating the deflect cancel makes him overtuned. A hero can be overtuned without being OP. Examples include Mei, Sombra, etc. They both have awful winrates, but there is a clear argument for their kit being too powerful (too much cc, not enough counterplay, etc.).
how is deliberately bringing seperate characters closer in power level anything but balance?
Where does it mention power? The whole thing is literally about competing with them for purpose and not having distinct niches like they do.
and as I said before, a character being subjectively “overtuned” is ultimately irrelevant if they are not overpowered.
Okay fine, maybe it is a bit over-tuned. But they would have to nerf all of the other over tuned heroes as well.
what else would it have been talking about? do you think the bar the devs were talking about was a measure of how cool they are or how many basketballs they can get in the spawn net? also niches are a factor in the power level of different characters.
Youre right with that there are some things that counters him, but I mean he can easily win any 1vs1 {damage vs damage} heroes. But that is probably how the things are supposed to be… My opinion is just that, he didnt need any buff.
The bar was clearly having a distinct niche.
which is a way to make him similar in power to those characters (balance).
NO GOD NO PLEASE NO
Wdym “to make it more consistent?” It’s already roughly the size of Brigitte’s shield and pretty damn consistent at deflecting crap. We do NOT need to make it bigger and allow him to start deflecting behind himself and through walls again. Just no.
I don’t think this is the first time we’ve seen this kind of ‘distinct niche’ buffs, and nor would it be the first time it ended up too much net power.
Nerf Brig, Moira, Ball, Sigma, Echo, Torb, Sym, Sombra, Reaper, Phara, Tracer, Soldier, McCree, Ashe, Bap, Doomfist maybe some more just a quick list. And THEN maybe they can revert the Genji buffs.
I mean I’m hoping they nerf her DPS potential/ease of use/consistency if they aren’t going to nerf her flat DPS #.
Tighten her beam by 30% and give her falloff damage or something since 20m range is ridiculous.
Just revert the deflect changes and that’s it.
He did. You need to be extremely ignorant to not see that.
Speaking of counters, every single character counters symmetra really well. How come we don’t see single buff to sym, but genji??
i don’t mind they nerfing him except the shuriken spread. that is the best thing they did to him in years
“genji doesn’t need buffs because symmetra is mediocre”
great logic bro
Reminds of when they boosted hanzoes projectile speed, gave him lunge, fan the bow and when grav dragon became a problem, they nerfed grav =_=“
When dragonblade is available every fight, I wonder if they’ll nerf nano to compensate instead XD
