no one is trying to belittle you. you calling people stupid is belittling people. we are trying to explain why in the long term this change isnt sustainable. you chimed in saying you like it cos you just want a skin. that is irrelevant to the topic. you dont like comp. you dont play the game for fun, you play it for a skin, therefore making your opinion useless to this topic. tell your buddies on discord about it. dont taint the forum by saying its a good change when no one that actually plays the game for fun agrees with that. everyone was civil with you. you became hostile.
yeah agreed, I played for hours today and it just feels bad, no matter how hard I try. Stadium was my main mode that kept me playing, but I don’t see me playing much Stadium after these changes. It’s so dissatisfying.

Upon further thought, my logic was flawed. I assumed because I encountered a lot of women in other unranked modes, that that may also be the case in Stadium. What I did not consider is that I could have played with a ton of women in ranked and not have noticed, because they had their mics muted. Also, I was trying to connect the whole ‘mercy migration’ to Stadium thing, because the hero was getting banned in ranked a lot, but then it would only make sense that they would play ranked in Stadium as a ranked mode that didn’t have bans. I’m not implying that no dude plays Mercy, but it would only make sense that Mercy players joined stadium to play ranked without getting Mercy bans, which completely defeats the part of my logic where I make the assumption that quick play is more populated by woman than ranked, if I’m using Mercy as an angle. I’m not implying that women don’t play other heroes, but its no secret mercy is popular with y’all. Like I said, even if I used the stereotypical ‘girl character’ my logic didn’t add up.
Because we’re not discussing what some other user said, frankly I could care less about it, I’m more interested in talking to you about what you think and engaging with you.
You entered a thread filled with people who don’t like something and then argued against it, what did you expect to happen? Also, as far as I’m aware I’ve never said that your opinion doesn’t matter?

Maybe they could extend the round length or make it best of 4 still. The time issue is just a frustration from trying to grind several rewards in one week. I do like having new powers every stadium round and agree that this game snowballs easily. Like you said, you want to have the chance to use your full build and games can end before you get that chance.

100% agree. We don’t get near enough cash per round for a 5 round system. Much prefer 7. I liked the length.

That could also be where your issue lies - the skins are available for three whole seasons in the challenges, so you don’t need to cram them into one week when a season is usually 60 days.
The issue now is balance - you earn more cash in QP, despite the round structure being the same. I would dominate as DVa, often with more cash than I could spend by the final rounds, but I had the build I wanted.
Now, that’s just not possible - and the whole point of Stadium was to play the hero the way you wanted to, with the build you’d designed. This throws all of that away, and makes the mode useless.
I would like to know if you actually manage to grind the skin out quicker, or if you end up having more trouble because curbstomps will be much more frequent.
Game modes rules aren’t even a gendered thing to begin with.
Aren’t the quickplay games valid for grinding weekly rewards? (I’m not certain). That would fulfill your desire for a shorter game and keep us happy. On the instance that I’m wrong though, you get more rewards for playing Stadium games (Double for Stadium + Double for win) so that’s why it’s so long. Also, you could just not play stadium, no one is forcing you to in this instance (unlike for a skin) as you can get it from the other game modes.
I am not sure how they could do this without just making the game longer, which seems to be the problem you have initially. Imagine you’re playing best of 3 control instead of just 1 round of control to win 1 round of stadium (if that makes sense). You are suddenly playing far longer in a game where you could still be getting steamrolled and have to continue playing regardless.

For sure, but the problem with simply increasing cash flow or something is that you scale far too much far too quickly, and the game will snowball as well. Players who perform better (the winning team usually) will get more money, and then use that money to buy perks and be stronger, winning them more money - thus snowballing
The skin rewards in question are only rewarded for reaching Pro in a certain role, or All Star in any role. That’s only feasible in Competitive Stadium.
Agreed, especially over the course of 2 months. If you play even 1 game a day then you can reach that feasibly. As you said

I think I’ve played around 50 games of stadium, maybe less, and I reached all star this season.
Skins are comp only, that’s why they’re playing it. Honestly this whole conversation makes me dislike the skins even being in the game mode. If we have to short matches to accommodate people who don’t even want to be there so they can get some ugly (imo) recolor, then I’d rather there be no skins.

I doubt the devs actually considered the skins as part of things. But, IDK. I never really thought about how they’d incentivize people to pick it over Quickplay before.

Yeah for sure, maybe they can make it a reward for playing x amount of games overall? that would reward engagement, and keep everyone happy.
On another note, why is there a skin for pro and all star, but not for legend? feels strange to me that you’re not specially rewarded for reaching the top rank, but penultimate is haha
