Ill say it for the millionth time on this stupid forum.
I can sling mud better than most people in this game. I was forged in garbage. Someone comes at me sideways, i can retaliate just fine. However. The reality is its always someone just like you, who runs their mouth, i put you in your place, your shallow ego gets bruised and you just report me. I can come down to your level and people like you and wreck you there.
Im fine with this arrangement. But turns out, people who talk smack in a video game are some of the most pathetically fragile people you come across. So when i come down to your level, you report me.
So. Why go down to your level? I can save myself the time and effort and just report you. Ironically this problem is not created by the people you say it is. Its created by people with weak egos who run their mouth and jump to the report button the moment their feelings get hurt. Get over it.

I get no ego boost from reporting in Overwatch or any game.
I see someone doing something they shouldnât, I hit the report button, I move on with my day. The person Iâm reporting will never pop into my mind again, Iâm never going to wonder if Blizzard did anything. You vanish from my brain like a fart in the wind. Youâre a zero-sum, completely irrelevant after the game is done and Iâm moving on to my next one.
I do watch pro-sports, specifically AFL, and frankly I donât care what the pro-players say. If they break the rules for unsportsmanlike conduct, then the refs will step in and take action. Iâm not part of the game, so itâs not my responsibility to do anything about the conduct of the players on the field. Thatâs the job of the referees.
By the way, multiple professional sports have rules against verbally sledging other players on the field, including, most notably, Ice Hockey. Players can be removed from the ice for instigating if what they said started a fight.

Blizzard, like you, has decided to go against reality. This doesnât make them right, this makes them absurd and detached from reality. Do you always just go along with what corporations decide for you? Do you ever think for yourself? Do you even know what that means? Or are you too busy reporting people for asking you to heal?
Despite that fact, they are the ones crying about a suspension in a video game because they could not control their emotions. Itâs ironic, really, given the whole emphasis on stoicism.

Probably not. Most trash talk is not even properly formatted. Telling me that I suck when I am outperforming you wouldnât offend me if my skin was made of wet tissue paper.
Exactly, it makes no sense. It is all emotional nonsense and I am not your therapist. Leave me out of it, ask nicely, or provide proof that you are a hot tsundere and I will be more than willing to accept your faults.

This is Blizzardâs game, hosted on Blizzardâs servers. That means you follow the rules they set, even if you donât agree with them.
You donât have freedom of speech, either here on the forums or in-game. You break the rules and you will be reported, and then you will be banned. Itâs that simple.
So unless you eventually want to lose your account and have to start over from scratch, Iâd advise you to reign it in.

Had the same. After I got silenced in chat for 2 weeks in july, I turned off every chat. And once this month I got a Warning for my communications

You canât handle smack talk, and you clearly canât handle opposing opinions. I see very clearly now why youâre so in favor of censorship, you want only your views to stand. Only your beliefs. My stance is simple, say whatever the hell you want to say and if you get too annoying Iâll just mute you. Your stance is, say only the things I want you to say and that I agree with.
