Reporting and Flagging We Need You!

In competitive, it’s everyone’s responsibility to flag toxic behavior in order to raise the quality of the community. When toxic people get a reprimand it gives them a chance to consider how they’ve been treating people. If they don’t care, it gives us all a chance to be happy that they’re banned.

In the forums, there are trolls. It’s everyone’s responsibility to flag topics and responses that are intended to be spamming repetitions of things that have been said hundreds of times. It’s important to let the moderators review posts that do not contribute to anyone’s enjoyment of the game of Competitive Overwatch.

So everyone, go check out LFG, and look around for Thrower / Derank groups, join them, refuse to select a role, and leave the group. Now right click on each of those throwers’ names in the chat and report them for Gameplay Sabotage, because that’s what throwing is. Sabotage of the rating system for the purposes of making people suffer at their hands.

We need everyone to contribute their small part to keeping things friendly and the games competitive.

So its not even worth wasting the time. Also its not just derankers, there is plenty of people offer accounts to sell or to boost.

Problem is that these deranking groups is their way how to do it safely without throwing games for others. If using lfg will make you banned, they will be throwing games with people who want to win, just saying. This is not good aproach. Blizzard has to step up and publicly say what is not ok, that includes top ranked streamers doing unranked to gm to and also start with banning 6 stack bot groups who level up to 25 and then auto derank to low bronze to sell these accounts.

imagine joining an lfg group to stall their time, and then another forumer comes into the lfg group and reports you for being in that group

only join groups at 5 out of 6 then?

Also it won’t matter unless it happens a lot. One report does nothing, you have to hit a threshold of a good amount of reports in a short enough time. 10 in a day will do it, but I’m not sure what the decay rate is if you accumulate them slower.

yeah makes them think they need to switch to one of there 10 alt’s once they trigger the ab chat warning

there are players on ladder that do this all day

Yes, report the account sellers and the bosters too. Those are even easier as you don’t have to join the group you can just report the group name and the leader of the group right from the LFG screen. Super easy. Super fast.

Yes, that’s the lie that the throwers tell themselves and others. The reality is that a 6 stack throwing group is the fastest and easiest way for them to reliably throw. It takes them the least amount of time and effort, and is 100% reliable.

Throwers should be reported everywhere they go, not just in LFG. The thrower 6 stacks also minimize the likelihood that they’ll be reported in the games they play as well, because the opposing team is getting a “benefit” from them in the free win. So it’s basically a corrupt and perverse incentive to not report them.

Thrower groups are one of the main reasons that I suggest Competitive should be solo queue only: Competitive Suggestion - Solo Queue

Who believes throwing has been “blessed” by Blizzard? How can you say this is ambiguous? Throwing is clearly gameplay sabotage and should be reported as such. Always, by everyone. What kind of strange place are you seeing?

Technically, the list of people goes in chat based on the roles they’ve selected. When you haven’t selected a role, you’re not in the list.

Yes, and if people were vigilant and not defeatist as others mentioned, we could get them banned before they get into their first game. One person cannot multi-report, but if people were to always check LFG and do their part, these accounts would go away faster and the throwers would find it not worth it.

Hey, more money for Blizzard to keep making updates for the game as the cheaters are driven to buy more accounts because theirs keep getting banned. Sounds like win-win for Blizzard and the people who want a clean game. Thanks for selling the reporting like it needs to be sold.

Basically only the toxic, throwers, and cheaters are against reporting.

Because the reporting system is the mechanism they have created and people don’t use it, thus the thread reminding people to make the system work.

Why they dont ban bot deranking groups then. They do level up and derank to bronze 500 like 20 hours.
