Nah, it’s literally my thoughts and opinions on Genji. I Literally didn’t ask for anything. No question marks, no “can you?” “Please?” “May you?” or anything of the sort anywhere in the title or the original comment. It’s literally my opinions. I know that people don’t like opinions that differ from their own and that’s understandable but not everyone is going to agree with you. I even had a nice discussion with someone on the topic. It’s fine if you want to voice your opinion on the matter but claiming it is something that it simply isn’t, is not adding anything to this thread.
I hope I cleared things up for you two. There is no secret meaning or interpretations to be had. I had thoughts and opinions on a subject, made a thread and claimed them as they are.
What? You think I’m upset because I told you the truth about this thread just being my opinion.
Hey, I can’t stop you from getting defensive for no reason over my opinion but I genuinely wish that you have a good day or night (whichever one it is for you, it’s morning for me ) and understand that this is just my opinion which may not be the same as yours and that’s completely fine. I’m not upset about it, you don’t have to be upset about me not being upset, either.
Sometimes you just have to speak your mind and stick to it. If you don’t agree with someone else, a simple “I disagree” and an optional reason is all you need. No need to be hostile or make false claims like this:
Just because I’m fine with not seeing eye to eye on something with you or that I stated my opinion on the internet.
Just wanted to make sure you understood. But it seemed sort of defensive since you tried to shift focus when I corrected you with facts. If you weren’t, my mistake.
Well, the truth is, I thought you were getting a bit upset so I was trying to assure you that I wasn’t upset and that there was no need to be upset over something that’s simply not true or claim false things. To be honest, I still feel as though you are a tad upset. I hope I am wrong about this, though. If I am, I apologize.
I did not mean to come off as defensive nor did I make the thread in bad faith. I also did not mean to offend anyone with my opinion.
However, I must ask that we get back on topic. Derailing the post could lead to suspensions or a closure of the post. Neither of which, I want for either of us.
I think you should try to understand the context. I said you were wrong about me being upset and your feeling of me still being upset is also wrong. It has nothing to do with apologies but everything to do with your projection.
Some of these numbers are overwritten for good reason. It makes little sense on an ability that I feel should mainly be used to close a gap. Consider the piercing effect and its 15m range.
Lmao, now Genji is “out of position” for doing his job.
What’s your argument here? Cause regardless on whether Genji is alone or not, dash reset only activating on final blows will be a death sentence on most dives.
I fail to see how I’m “out of position” if I get an enemy low and one of my teammates get the final blow in an attempt to assist me. Am I in the wrong for doing my job or is my teammate in the wrong for… also doing their job? Makes no sense.
It doesn’t matter if my team is pushing or not. I’m relying on that dash to get me out of there. Without it, the two seconds of defense provided will not be enough to keep me alive most of the time.
That isn’t balanced, that’s just unfair. It punishes teamwork, and that’s the last thing Overwatch needs.
Dash resetting on final blows wouldn’t remove this playstyle at all.
It wouldn’t punish teamwork, it would encourage more thought being put into when Genji uses his dash and actually encourage him to be in the backline more where there are less people to “steal” his kill. If he is with his team, he is at a way lower risk of dying “because he doesn’t have dash” and he would still be able to do his job as a flanker.
Not really. You just might not agree with it.
Differing opinion =/= bad post.
Mccree also:
Has considerably less mobility.
Has no way to negate damage.
Doesn’t have increased base speed like Genji.
Has to pay more attention to positioning as he cannot reposition as easily.
Has an ult that is waaaaaay easier to avoid and is waaaaaay more likely to get killed using it.
Can get stunned out of his ult.
Also doesn’t get free handouts for doing his job like Genji.
You brought Mccree into this.
Every other flanker’s job is to get backline kills and finish low health enemies. Genji is the only one who gets a reset for doing so. The reset is not the problem. How easily he gets the reset is. Genji is not punished as hard for making mistakes as the other flankers are, either.
That being said, as someone else pointed out, it’s cooldown is sort of long for a flanker’s mobility ability, however;
It goes through multiple people.
Is reset if any of those people are killed after, by him or a teammate with a gracious activation period.
I know you guys don’t agree with my opinion, that’s fine. I’m not saying he’s OP or asking for these changes. I just shared my opinion as stated. I usually play Sombra so Genji doesn’t even get to dash, let alone, use the reset. I do honestly like the passion and input, though.
