Remove tanks and supports

Maybe not butchered but neglected for way too long but brig, orisa, sigma, dva, bap and mercy have been butchered. Not to say any DPS haven’t been butchered sym definitely has but it’s disproportionally tanks and supports being nerfed compared to DPS

People who complain about tank and support nerfs really don’t understand just how impactful tanks and supports are compared to DPS.

This is simply untrue because without DPS getting picks the tanks and supports are literally useless just standing there guarding the point until they’re inevitably overrun a good DPS can solo carry a game a good tank and especially support can’t do that

Tanks have always been the hard carry and thinking otherwise is plain wrong.

Except Sym has still typically performed better and has been picked more since her reworks? Not much, mind you, but it was an improvement.

D.Va’s pick and win rates also increased with her changes. The only thing “butchering” D.Va of late is that Sigma and Zarya are in the game.

Bapt is still a very strong pick.

Mercy’s about the strongest she’s been since Moth meta.

Brig is still a strong choice when played correctly.

Of that whole list, only Orisa has been turned to horsemeat.

Or you can just go death match

If 2 chars are meta for a year something is not working.

Sigma has been OP since release and they buffed Orisa hard before 2.2.2

And I dnt wanna talk about Brig stats.

Genji has been meta for like 1,5 months and he was nerfed.

Before the 2 shield meta (which is meta since a year ago) we had goats meta (whole dps role wasnt meta for another year)

Before goats we had mercy meta for another year, and before that we had Dive (the most healthy meta for OW ever) And Dive meta was a thing because of Winston and Dva.

Tanks and supps (specially tanks) are the meta core and is normal to balance them.

Can we stop crying and adapt to the balance patchs… Im sure we can play other tanks and supps instead of Orisa, Sigma, Brig and Ana/Bap.

Dva, hog, Winston, zarya, Hammond, Zen, lucio,… Imagine playing those chars without thrashpicking

Imo this one is the best balance patch since OW was released. Not having 6 shield chars every match will be good for OW

So impactful that it takes literal weeks to climb as tank or support, but when I get sick of attempting to climb as those I jump on DPS and go from 2700 to 3250 in an afternoon. It’s a joke.

They haven’t already. Sure feels like it…

Shield tanks and Main supports are/were so incredibly strong that you can/could run two of them without repercussions. Let that sink in.

Off tanks and off supports are so incredibly outclassed that they are all but throw picks, and none of them got any nerfs that I can think of. What does that tell you?

If we didn’t have forced 2-2-2 the meta comp would probably have zero dps, aka some form of goats. At most 1 dps would fit into triple tank comps.

But yeah man, all the tank/supp nerfs are totally only happening because dps are complaining right? :smirk:

I suppose if we did remove them like you asked we could have a dps only meta to balance out the time we had a a tank/support only meta lol

isnt brig an off support lol

they will probably need to change 2-2-2 to 1-1-2-1-1 so people choose one main tank/main healer and off-tank/off healer so they can buff them up again lol

Or wait and see how the next tank experiment jeff was talking about turning Rein into more of a Roadhog. That kinda get rid of tanks

Dva is the worst tank, bap’s ult charge rate is colossal low for how powerful it actually is and immorality is on way too long of a cooldown to justify its duration, sigma can’t excel at anything currently, sym is a disaster, brig is quite literally the worst support and saying mercy is the best she is now since three years ago is just pathetic cause she’s been trash ever since her healing nerf and they refuse to even revert that and ya orisa is in such a sad state

But, again, what changed?

D.Va’s kit is objectively more powerful now than following her Goats-curtailing nerfs, despite seeing lower pickrates and winrates than at that time.

Sym may be poor now, but her pickrates and winrates have increased since her rework, before which she was even worse.

Sigma is still doing fine. A hybrid doesn’t need to also excel at his various functions beyond whatever synergy his access to so many functions provides.

Brig is now situational, not “literally the worst” in all cases. She performs poorly against hitscan poke and snipers, both of which are presently dominant.

Again, what’s the change? Mercy has only been buffed since the fall of Moth meta. And 5 HPS alone will not push or pull her into or from dominance, as those nerfs and buffs to her HPS already proved.

The changes in gamestate have done far more to each of those heroes’ perceived power than their actual power has. The meta dictates far more than these small shifts in kit power.
