In arcade and watch the majority of the player base ditch the rest of the game modes in favour for that.
I bet you’d see a massive decrease in every game mode, blizzard are scared to release something like this.

nope don’t think it’s necessary
for a single day. Then, watch as everyone ditches that mode because of - Double shield, Perma CC, Overly oppressive but also incredibly boring tanks to play. And if OW1 has push 6v6 sounds like a never ending nightmare.

So would this “legacy” mode also not have any of the new heroes since they aren’t balanced around 6v6?
I assume this would basically be how things were in the last patch before OW2 released?

deep rock galactic is letting people play the game as it was in 2018 as a bonus mode for their anniversary

Why would releasing a legacy mode and seeing masses of people swarm there be a bad thing? Isn’t it obvious Blizzard wants to see people playing the Arcade? They specifically made playing (+ winning) Arcade games a weekly coin reward incentive.

If by Legacy OW you mean the OG OW then sure. If you mean the shield/CC infested vile that we had for the last few years then hard pass. No one would play that except for a few support one tricks that want to stand still behind shields.
Yeah because open queue 6v6 went so well the first time around.
It is for those of us who have been here from the beginning. We don’t like 5v5 (for the most part). We didn’t like double shields, etc, but my active players have nearly completely dissolved since the release of OW2. I don’t play nearly as much as I use to either. It’s plain and simply not as fun, and I don’t look forward to it anymore. I still enjoy the fellowship with my other players, but I have a hard time even getting a 5-stack anymore and getting a 6 stack before was never an issue. There are lots of new players, which is great, but the old player base is going away rapidly and the new players aren’t going to be devoted to the game. They’ll move on quickly to the next free to play game.

Wait a few years, they will release a legacy version call it something like overwatch classic and charge you $15 a month for it

How is anyone being scammed from a free game? You can either play it or not. No one is holding you hostage and you aren’t convincing anyone to quit with your 24/7 doomer posts.
