Reinhardt has some fixes in the works! - It’s uncertain to what extent these fixes will help, but it’s something! Thank you everyone who has been working on raising awareness of Reinhardt’s numerous issues over the last two years. Hopefully these fixes will be comprehensive, but even if they’re not it’s a good start!

We’re up to ~11 bugs and 33 GIFs/Videos

Like many others, I am sick and tired of Reinhardt’s numerous glitches. After all, almost all of them have existed since the game was launched, and nearly none of them have been addressed (Thank god they fixed the issue with zero-reg hammer swings). So I decided to start recording some of the glitches that can be caught with F9 (Because it doesn’t capture lag-related bugs, and screen recording software lowers my FPS dramatically) and share them in hopes of having them resolved.

These are by no means all of the glitches that are out there, just some of the ones I’ve experienced very recently. There are 13 gifs here that are mine, so please feel free to add more if you have them to share.

Vacuum pin - Even though I enjoy getting pins like this, there’s really no reason at all, at that angle, for me to have been able to actually pin that Moira.

Charge pushes targets away instead of pinning them

Charge pins THROUGH objects - (In this case a cactus)

Charge Interacting with Rocket Punch - If used the moment before Rocket Punch lands charge will, instead of colliding, do this whole mess:

Targets flat out ignore Earthshatter - It may be really hard to see because of the size of the gif, but in this one Tracer just walks right over Earthshatter despite being in its AoE twice (Before and after the first Blink)

Earthshatter just goes straight through barriers - In the first video (I’m playing Zarya) you could even hear the effect of the bubble absorbing the damage from Earthshatter. In the second video, you can see Reinhardt is affected, but McCree isn’t.

Flying Earthshatter - Instead of waiting to hit the ground, Reinhardt just performs Earthshatter mid-air, literally striking nothing with his hammer, and subsequently with the ult itself.

Struck through the barrier - In the first gif, Ana’s Biotic Grenade hit to the left of me, which was an area I turned to cover with the shield as I saw it coming towards me. It still hit. In the second gif, I’m clearly struck by Hanzo’s arrow from the front with the barrier up.

Earthshatter Triggers Incorrectly - The player jumped before using Earthshatter, but instead of waiting to hit the ground it just goes off while he’s in mid-air, wasting it entirely

Suspended Pin - The player was pinned, but instead of colliding with the object behind him (In this case the cart in Junkertown) it just suspends the player in one spot until the animation cancels

Reinhardt’s random spinning bug - Reinhardt spontaneously spins around for no reason at all, completely independent of any input on the user’s part, wasting his abilities.

I have had the shatter go through my reign shield many times. Have one on video also. Will upload if needed but you already have multiple gifs of it already.

That seems to be a really common one. Well, the more the merrier! Maybe if they see an absurd number of gifs all with the same problems they’ll be in a bigger hurry to fix it.

That’s a really good question. I guess people are too involved in the Hanzo/Brigitte issues to care about how wildly broken an essential hero’s been since the game’s launched.

Honestly, I have pretty much given up on the idea they will fix any of rein’s bugs permanently. I mean, They thought they fixed charge. They didn’t

and instead of fixing the reg of his Hammer they just buffed the swing speed so it’s not a noticeable.

I’m starting to think that they have no clue how to fix any of his bugs. which would really be the only thing I can think of.

Also, It is true Most players right now are either playing with/against a hanzo and having such a OP hero constantly wipe your team seems to grab more attention than threads like these.

Most bugs I figure they have to actually discover first, but I figured it’d help focus the devs’ attention towards locating and fixing Reinhardt’s bugs if threads like this got a lot more attention. As you can imagine, this is a tad bit disappointing for me.

Keep these going, guys. Sick of these bugs - things that work when they shouldn’t and things that don’t work when they should. The bugs remove so much consistency from such an important hero.

The more examples the devs get, the easier it is for them to solve the issue!

Well, first off: I intended to go sleep but after having seen this thread and all the gifs I dont think I’ll be able to calm down enough to fall asleep.

Secondly, at least for the shatters through shields I think a lot of those moments can be attributed to Overwatch’s favor-the-shooter mechanic. On their screen the shield wasnt up when they used Earth Shatter. And when it looks like something was hit on their screen it has priority over you not being affected on your screen. End result being that you get stunned even though on your screen it clearly shouldnt have connected.

What’s even more heart breaking than seeing all this collected footage, is that these bugs aren’t even on the developers “known bug” list.

I’ve been pinned standing BEHIND Rein. A weird vaccum effect happens and he sucks you in. Also, I’ve been in mid air from a knock back before, safely out of rein’s charge range and then im randomly sucked directly in front of him and get pinned.

Just realized, You are missing the bug where firestrike can land on someone behind Reinhardt if his back is pressed against them, Not that big of a bug but a bug none the less.

I don’t have a GIF on hand but you can go into the practice range and see for yourself.
