I did play Hammy in my main account in Masters with a +60% win rates. 4 hours, last season.
You were sayin?

Hmm, interesting…
If only the pros said that…
This is a problem with the community tho, and it’s rather sad. Really wish people stopped saying this. I refused to play Mercy in her meta, worked ok for me, but I wish players just gave people a chance with their picks instead of trying to decide for them.
What are you trying to prove, that people aren’t toxic on ladder regarding non Reinhardt picks just because you haven’t personally experienced it? I can screen shot the chats I’ve got for you next time, hell I can just link to youtube videos of people flaming WB picks (Jayne’s video with Yeetle comes straight to mind right now)
Exactly, people should be grateful to have a tank in the first place in lower ranks.
Pfft, S-tier, I wish…
The sad thing is that DVA, w/4 s duration 1 s cd DM, was nearly a competitor to Rein for the main tank role.
But all the DVA mains complained that being “a DM bot” was boring, and that they wanted to be more like Winston instead. So they reworked her, and now here we are.
Oh please do, I want to see what team composition Hammond’s team had.
The reason was that many people cried about D.VA.
“D.VA eats my ultimate”, “D.VA OP”,
And to this day still many do and she got again nerfed.
Jeff is a Rein main so Rein is never getting nerfed. Sad, but true. Any other hero dominating its class for so long would have been nerfed months ago.
And get out of here with the “But the pro pickrate” nonsense.
He won’t be for long.
Actually, I remember hearing more complaints about her DM being too “oppressive” against DPS ults. Nominally, from Pharah, Soldier and McCree players. Her DM was called “anti-skill” for as long as I remember, and the real irony is that she became a more mandatory pick after they gutted her DM because the “compensations” were more valuable than the losses (ie, shooting while boosting and missiles).
It’s kinda the same issue that happened later with Hanzo. Scatter was much more balanced than Storm + Lunge together.
Reinhardt is fine. You know what isn’t fine? The severe lacking of main tanks in the game.
We have 3 main tanks, Rein, Orisa, and Winston.
Now compare them towards Rein, Orisa is the only one who can reliably protect her team, but if her shield gets melted and it was just placed down, her team is screwed. She has a good upside in her that she can attack while shielding her teammates and has the ability to reduce incoming damage onto herself and not be able to be CC’ed but that’s it.
Now comparing Winston into Rein, he can’t really protect his team much at all. Sure his bubble is good for helping your teammates cross over on a map like let’s say Horizon, but after that he can’t really use it to protect his team that much. Generally Winston’s use bubble to help them when they dive in, so his teammates are usually in the open using natural cover.
Now Winston has a few upsides over Rein, in having superior mobility, being able to travel vertically very well, and chase after low targets better, but that’s it.
We are lacking another maintank like Rein who can reliably shield their team without having a super low health shield. In this meta Rein really has no competition, he’s the superior main tank in the game, but that’s not his fault, it’s the devs fault for not giving us a new main tank (Yes, I’m calling Hammond an off tank, he’s basically a tanky DPS like Dva and Hog.)
Actually you’re right, Reinhardt will never get nerfed just because Jeff mains him. He’s one of us, and don’t you forget that…
i think the problem is the ult. Earthshatter is nearly uncountable without Rein and is a free teamfight win. It needs to be not as good as it is now, and both Orisa and Roadhog need much better ults to complete.
Usually he’ll Earthshatter, you’ll Fortify, he’ll charge, and whether you kill him or not. Doesn’t matter, you’re last one standing because your team are dead to the Earthshatter follow up.
If only the title said this post wasn’t just about pro play.
True, but the title also claims that Reinhardt is being picked in every pro match.
Im confused as why so many use this logic.
Rein is easily the most vunerable main tank with 0 ways to deal with CC + he has 0 mobility. He is easily the buggiest of the main tanks and is unplayable on maps that have high ground that is needed to win , or where environmental kills have huge value. As a main tank player, i enjoy playing winston more as not only can i pressure squishes but damage them too, instead of holding shield.
Rein is amazing dont get me wrong, he does massive cleave damage to isolated and slow targets. And thats his problem, a lucio + zarya is almost needed in most scenarios, as he is easily played around with his slow and bulky playstyle , but thats what i like about the main tanks in the game, they all are fundamentally different which allow different comps and new ways to proceed to tackle an objective. (next hero main tank plzzz)
Reinhardt is fine… They should design a new main tank, and i hope hero 30 will be a main tank. And not another off-tank.
Buh hes da onry wun dat can do hees jub so itz okay oh ma gawd shat ap,
