I was just talking to another poster about how, as a zarya one trick, I typically feel very comfortable against reins, but that’s mainly because many of them hold their shield up too long and I’m happy to break it.
The rein’s I struggle against are the ones that singularly focus on me and are in my face the whole game. When that happens, I try to instead focus on the enemy support, but if the support knows what they’re doing, I’m toast… is that your experience?
I play very aggressively as Rein. Zarya isn’t usually a struggle because I ignore her and go for the backline as Reinhardt. Sometimes it won’t work because teammates will be shooting at Zarya instead, charging up her power and making her a death machine. Im usually always go for the backline regardless.
With all due respect, no, that would just mean you’re not a Rein one-trick
But as a fellow Rein enjoyer, I understand the hesitation to switch in some situations. Specifically when the enemy tank is also Rein, but the rest of his team is making things hard for you and/or you’re not getting the same level of support from your own. It just feels icky somehow
As for other Reins, all I ask, at least when I’m on LW, is that they STOP CONSTANTLY RUNNING IN 1V5 ALL MATCH. It feels like every Rein I encounter in Comp does this. How am I supposed to actually pressure the enemy with thorns (and you know, in general do what I do to WIN) when I’m stuck in heal jail trying to just barely keep Rein alive through the insanity?
ayo the buddha complimenting zarya players?! this is certainly a rare sight, i thought you hated zarya players!
i feel it depends on your DPS team comp imo. if you’re running like junk bastion (which might be a bit more common in qp), then it’s not so bad. but when you get anything else, it is a REAL up hill battle imo!
i have had the occasional game where I had like bastion zen junk… poor rein doesnt stand a chance against that lot
I have been enlightened. I was wrong about Zarya. Zarya is a magnificent creature and her mains are magnanimous.
In all seriousness, those Overwatch Classic games where you get carried by a Zarya are peak Overwatch. I have to turn the game off after one of those because nothing will ever be as fun and I love to end it on a high note.
Zarya is seriously such a blast in classic it is absolutely insane, it’s so hard to go back to normal overwatch after those great zarya games I’ve gotten to play with my old rein duos a few times it’s genuinely been the most fun experience, I miss playing with my rein partners so much!! Even one of my duos (whos a LW one trick) played rein a few times, he’s an old rein main, we had an absolute awesome time together!
I agree so much about turning off the game after such a peak game, it’s just too good of a feeling, and you just know the next game will be horrid
