Recently getting lag spikes (FPS)

Hi i got a i7 4.2ghz , plenty of ram and HD space. 2070 SUPER GTX graphics card. playing on ultra ( was playing on epic until this recent patch it started so i went to ultra) i got around 180- 250 FPS but for some reason it keeps rubber banding and has started since this new patch. Can’t find anything wrong on my computer and I paly WoW on HIGH settings and dont have any issues.

-edit MY GPU only gets to around 63, 64 C max and CPU maxes around 65.

Hey Scrot,

If you can provide a WinMTR test while playing, this may help pinpoint the problem:

  1. Download WinMTR
  2. Unzip the WinMTR.zip file to the Desktop.
  3. Open the WinMTR folder and select the 32 or 64 bit version. Choose whichever one corresponds to your version of Windows.
  4. Run the WinMTR.exe
  5. Type the IP address you want to trace in the “Host” field. To get the correct IP you will actually need to open up the game and go Practice Vs AI or Quick Play and if you are on PC hit Ctrl+Shift+N and it will bring up the ingame network diagnostic graph, or go to Video > Options > Display Network Performance Graph if you are on any platform including Console. In the top left corner is the IP address you want to run WinMTR to.
    Network Graph
note When looking at the IP it will show up ingame as something like 12.34.56.78:12345. You will want to leave the last 5 digits and the colon at the end off and the IP you want to use is just the 12.34.56.78
  6. Once you notice the connection issue while playing, play for about 6 more minutes, minimize the game and click on “Stop”.
  7. Click on “Copy text to clipboard”, then return to this forum thread.
  8. Type two sets of four squiggly lines and then paste the contents of the WinMTR test between: ~~~~ Paste WinMTR Test Results Here ~~~~

OK I will try that now, i should have it running the whole time before it starts to rubberband? then play for 6 minutes after i notice it before i stop it?

Scrot

Correct. Run it as soon as you enter a match using the IP listed in the Net Graph. Keep it running after you notice the rubberbanding. Stop it after 5 to 10 minutes of experiencing the problem.

The same thing has been happening to me so i ran the same thing.

When you lower your FPS cap to like 100 does it stop rubber banding, cause that’s whats happening to me atm, for some reason my pc cant handle it going over 125+ fps i just keep rubber banding and I don’t know the problem because I have more than enough resources to run overwatch

This is my issue as well. Was playing on the optimal setting with 300 fps cap and no issues until this last week or so. If I play above 100 or so fps cap I get random freezes
