Really? Cyber Sojourn in Bride of Junkenstein?

I don’t even play Sojourn, but having that skin in the first ever PVE event of Overwatch 2 is a disgrace.

Overwatch 2 was originlly supposed to be a PVE only sequel, with Overwatch 1 remaining intact as a PVP game. Seeing the goalpost moved so far backwards is embarassing. The event is mediocre and lazy, and doesn’t really inspire hope in the future of PVE for the game.

Keep feigning enthusiasm for the Cyberpunk skin in the event just because you can’t stand criticism of Blizzard. Textbook shilling.

If they dont have this game done or any content why do they keep saying they do with things like “more skins than any other year” and saying they have years worth of skins and heroes in the works. They barely mustered 3 legendary halloween skins, a few sprays, a card, and a weapon charm. Xmas will be just as bad but without the apology skin. Ganna get $40 bundles for xmas and an event that gives you a card and a charm. Thats events now. A charm, a card, and some $26+ bundles.

Microsoft cant buy you guys fast enough. Just mess after mess. Its sad cuz the games are fun. They just have no clue wth to do after that. They like losing money. Theyd rather sell 10 kiriko bundles for $26 than sell 1000 kiriko skins for $10. So awful at monetization…

What’s more, it’s a bad skin. She looks like a goober.

She looks like what a 5 year old thinks a detective looks like, except they added neon lights and made her coat 2-3 sizes too small.

She doesn’t look cool, or mysterious. She looks like a child dressed her. She looks so goofy, Disney is getting their lawyers ready.

I actually like the skin on its own, but I’m also a big fan of Cyberpunk 2077 and the Edgerunners anime.

Still don’t want it in the Halloween event lol.

I like cyber punk, but it’s just not even a good cyberpunk skin. It’s just sojurn in a goofy coat.

For me it’s mainly that Sojourn is lacking good skins. I like her default skin the best to be honest.

Yes. Exactly. All her skins are pretty bad.

Ya, I think of her skins mostly as wasted potential. And to agree with Supernova for a change, I kind of wish the Halloween event was played more seriously, because a Cronenberg body-horror skin would be perfect for someone like Sojourn who has most of her body replaced.

To ramble further, when I look at Sojourn, I think of the best scene in the Robocop reboot.

I wouldn’t even mind except the tank they put in is the close range brawler one, whose main loop involves yoinking enemies into melee - against fleets of kamikaze exploders.

I did it once on easy mode and the Junkerqueen kept knife-pulling kamikazes into her and died a few times. Must be annoying on higher difficulties.

You are arguing in bad faith again. Why? I’ve only given my opinion on not minding a skin in an event. I’m not excited by the event or let down, because as I said on a different thread in these forums before it started, I wasn’t hyped for this at all. I went in it with the lowest of expectations because I’ve been playing this game for years. I’ve seen it do nothing for so long, I was half expecting to see JR classic again just with some new characters.

I don’t care that much about the event one way or the other because I just play these until I beat the legendary difficulty challenge then it’s back to the real game for me. It’s a nice goofy little distraction. PVP is the real meat.

You still won’t answer the question as to why you are hawking for an additional “werewolf hunter” Sojourn skin for the shop, then. Just to match a goofy Halloween event.

You just said you uninstalled and don’t play Overwatch so why is this a revelation?

I don’t think this is 100% accurate. PVP was going to upgrade to OW2 as well but the PVP upgrade was to be free for all OW1 players so they didn’t split the playerbase. The 5v5 and the f2p ideas unfortunately came later, but they sere still gonna upgrade to OW2 in the multiplayer with the new engine, push, Sojourn etc. All announced before the shift to 5v5 and f2p. Lootboxes were probably done for though with them being outlawed as gambling in several countries, so some sort of new monetization was on the way. I remember something about Jeff Kaplan fighting Activision to get the monetization as fair as possible in OW1… Now we have the OW2 we do. I do not like the shop. I did hope it would be better than this and would have preferred the PVE as a separate add-on. I’m not sure the PVE ever would have ever been or will be good, but I feel it probably had a better chance as a paid for expansion than to be doled out over the seasons. I can deal with the battlepass but the shop prices are way too high. I still like the PVP gameplay and haven’t found anything else that scratches the same itch.

They had a jumpscare warning for the event they did give us… That is some REAL wishful thinking. They’re keeping this game on the Smash Bros side of the Teen Rating.

So true. Because the characters picked are wrong. And just done to make the mode harder.

Says I’m arguing in bad faith, puts words in my mouth.

I never once advocated for a new Sojourn skin to be put on the shop. Not once. Just because I want a skin doesn’t mean I want it on the shop, I want skins to be earned by playing.

Either way it is besides the point. The point is, they cut corners in their first ever PVE event and it looks bad. Whether or not you personally like the detective skin in the event doesn’t change the fact that it wasn’t created for the event and was slapped in clumsily after the fact.

Kiriko isn’t a good healer choice for it and neither is JQ a good tank choice for it, but they’re there to show off the new heroes (same for Sojourn.) It’s also an opportunity for them to temp you into buying the new $26 event skins because you see people playing with them.

I’m glad that someone else brought this up about Sojourn, it totally stood out.

Blizzard wants you to spend money, its really obvious. I hope you guys aren’t wasting your money, these skin prices are a scam.

I saw a lot of Witch Kirikos in QP last night.

She’s a cyborg, not a robot.

That doesn’t even make sense. The people who don’t enjoy the game should be the ones off the forums and playing a different game.

Thats really sad to hear, those poor fools got scammed. If people only had a bit of self control, blizzard would actually be forced to lower their prices.

It was a logical inference. You want a new legendary holiday event skin. This is OW2. Where do new legendary holiday event skins go in OW2? The shop for $20 or more.

The only PVE event that didn’t feel like it had cut corners to me was Archives Retribution. Junkenstein’s Revenge Classic, Uprising, Storm Rising, all felt like they had corners cut as well. This is why I just don’t get hyped for these things anymore. They never live up to the hype… I never really expected much out of OW2’s PVE from the beginning, I guess. It’s not the game I go to for that sort of thing.
