Bro I’ve been playing OW since the original beta. I know what a career profile is. Contextless data is basically meaningless.
You are not reading what I’m actually saying, so this discussion is over.

No such thing exists in OW2.
You are.
How is it hidden, it’s literally on the title screen in large font? Statistics is a tab at the top of the Career Profile… in large font.
If you’ve been playing since the Beta, you should know that no such thing as a “Season Profile” exists in OW2. Lol.
Your MMR comes from your average performance. Everything - not just the last 7 wins, because you may actually be fighting lower-MMR players that the game expects you to defeat. That, or you may not actually be playing THAT well… your team may be carrying you.
In order to get a realistic view of how well you actually play the game, you need a larger sample size going into the statistics than the last 7 wins.
You need your all time averages to improve, because that’s a bigger clue regarding how your MMR is progressing.
Your MMR is what determines how the matches are composed within an SR range. Even if you are similar SR to someone else, they may have a higher MMR, and you get rewarded more for winning against opponents the algorithm expects to win vs. those it expects to lose.
In order to understand how this all works, players have no choice but to actually delve beyond “last 7 wins,” otherwise they will remain naive in perpetuity while expecting to go up every time they get a 7 Wins breakpoint in the competitive mode.
That 7 wins screen serves no purpose other than to make people feel good and give them a carrot to play towards. Everyone is playing to get to 7 Wins so they can see that screen. It’s actually hilariously manipulative, but it definitely works! Better than SR numbers, in fact.
I think people just need time to adjust, so they aren’t “disappointed” when they aren’t instantly moving up after getting to that breakpoint.
The “Bronze 5” Bug didn’t help. Now people are just using it as a reason to tilt and reinforce their belief that they should be rocketing up the ranks.
I got the same bug, I should be placed in gold by now, I don’t wanna keep playing comp if my rank isn’t fixed.
on my 4th set of 7W right now silver 3.
That’s called rigging and algorithmic handicapping. MMR has no place in a ranked competitive environment. Rank people based on how they win/lose against others (randomly selected) of said rank. That’s how Chess ELO, Glinko, and other systems work. There is no data-invasive performance history used for/against you when shipping a lobby.
I was also playing diamond/plat in ow1 and placed silver 5 in ow2 and im finding it incredibly difficult to get higher than gold solo queing.
I agree displaying (specifically) the data the game measures to rank or derank you in order for you to go and improve on that.
Is it as simple as “get more heals” or “get more kills” or “block more damage”? Who knows…because they dont tell you.
The best people can tell you to do is “win more games” or “get better” but those are way to vague of an answer as far as im concerned because i believe the games algorithm is monitoring specific data in order to asses your performance.
What exactly is that data.
The other headache is solo que. Its pure rng that you get players in your team that will help you bring a win.
So it becomes more a matter of who has the worst team, not whos the better team.
Thats just my opinion.
Took me 13 rank updates to get out of bronze 5, give it time.
Last season 7W5L i got silver5 but this season 7W5L i stayed bronze 1. I dont undertsand man,its been too long,i have been stuck for this whole season and i dont even derank or i dont even uprank.I wanna see some changes. But i cant, its getiing frustrating.
yes 100% agree with this
But you didn’t have to win 7 more games just to see if you rank up or not, you ranked up with clearly defined numbers. Yeah they were garbage with how slow it was but you could see it.
First of all, the devs clearly said that in-game performance is not taken into account when adjusting your MMR (matchmaking rank). MMR is the only TRUE indicator of your rank and it is only adjusted by win, draw or lose.
SR/Divisions like we used to have/currently have is there only for your eyes. You might make 7 wins and 5 losses, stay in the same divison (silver 5) but your MMR might have improved by 10 (this is an example, this number is fictional). The necessary MMR to display silver 4 rank might be 40 more than you currently have. So say your MMR was 1000 in silver 5, you then get 10 after the 7/5 games, you’re in 1010. You need 1050 to display silver 4.
It’s a terrible system in my opinion that is designed to be ‘less tilting’ for the average player. But it is so bad for competitive players. I feel terrible playing for 3 days straight while looking at the same division. At least with SR, changes were more direct. With SR even if your MMR changed by 10, it would still be visible after each game. A small change perhaps (for example you could only gain 13 SR or something), but still enough incentive to keep playing.
I don’t understand why they had to make this game more newbie friendly. This new rank system encourages more leaving in games (because you know that even if you win or lose your rank will probably stay the same), less competitive games (I won’t take games as seriously as I used to. There was a rush when I was 15 SR away from Diamond, now idk what is going on with rank) and more complains in the forums.
I’m so mad they said they won’t be changing this system completely
At least they said they will make it so you need 5 wins to display your next rank. They also said they will add more information at post-game screen, I hope they include a ‘meter’ indicating how far you are from the next rank, even if it’s not a number.
