After i complete my placements instead of just promoting me it drops me down a whole rank then promotes me. Earlier i was diamond 4 played 8 matches won 7 then it dropped me to plat 4 and promoted me to plat 1. it keep doing this over and over and is ruining my rank. please review and fix my ranks, its wasting so much effort and time!

The same exact thing is happening to me. First i was stuck bronze 5 bug now im getting de ranked a whole teir only to be promoted to rank 1 for the same teir i get de ranked to over and over again. Its making it pointless to do competitive with this crap. Please fix this Blizzard and restore my Rank.

I’ve had this as well.
It would seem as though the rank drop is correct but the animation is bugged.
Basically what happened is you dropped from diamond 4 to plat 1. Instead of the animation going from diamond 4 to Plat 1 it drops down a rank and then moves you back up to where you would have dropped down to.
It really isn’t intuitive.

The rank drop is definitely not correct im winning about 80 percent of matches maybe more theres no way it drops me 4 tiers

Post your match history. That doesn’t sound right then. Also remember your “Sr” gains and losses are far more dependent on your performance now. So you can drop with a positive winrate.
It dropped you 2 tiers. Once from diamond 4 to diamond 5 and once more from diamond 5 to plat 1.

Literally happened to me last night, I was plat 4 but it said I went up from gold 4 to gold 2

This has happened to me twice in this current season (S3). I was ranked gold 5, but after winning my 5 matches, it acts as if I am Silver 5 and then promotes me to Silver 2. It makes me not want to play competitive because then it drops me from my season progress.

This happened to me too this season (S3). I am new to Overwatch 2 and I was at silver 3, had a 5 W- 6 L and it dropped me all the way to bronze 2 and now I am deeper into bronze. This is very discouraging to a new player who wants to get better in the comp area. So this bug is back.

You are not alone in experiencing this bug. Assuming your win-loss ratio is positive, you might be experiencing the bug in which during a rerank, your initial rank is demoted five subdivisions before the adjustment takes place. If you can, could you record your bugged rank adjustment, making sure that at some point in the video it shows your pre-adjustment rank, either from the queue menu or the career profile, and link that video to the thread?
