Raid boss tank mentality needs to go

Really? Only in the amazing world of Bronze you can charge right into the enemy team as Rein and get away with it. Stop hating just because you don’t like a hero.

Stop hating on constructive feedback because you main the hero. I don’t hate reinhardt. Nor tanks in that matter except maybe some exceptions like zarya because of her design. However i am concerned about the game being centered around tanks too much. If your tank dies you get steamrolled. Same goes for other way around.

Just to clarify this was happening around mid plat (i think i’m not sure if i deranked from plat 3 or stayed at the same rank of plat 5 thanks to the bad ranking system) so this means most likely diamonds or maybe even masters were involved in the game with the current MM.

The Tanks job is and always will be to be “raid bosses”. There is one of them and that one only has to do their job solo.

Their job is to make space by protecting his team and with the threat of being killed inside a certain range.

Tanks are not made to be 1v1’d by DPS, forget it. They are made to be focused down by the TEAM in a TEAM based game. Alternatively ignore them and dive their Supports and they are vulnerable.

With your suggestions the Tanks would be fat DPS again like in OW1. The players fought tooth and nail for years so the role can be unique.

  • Tanks have to be either ignored or focused down depending on how big their threatening space is
  • Snipers basically have infinite threatening space so they either have to be focused down by a duo or being mirrored
  • Builder heroes turrets and the character itself needs to be focused down the same time or the turret be mitigated by something until the character dies

We already have other categories outside of Tanks that have big threatening space and need to be shut down in a different way and there is no problem with that. I get what you want to achieve but that wouldn’t work in practice.

Dont bother its a lost cause, the game is not catered to us anymore. Watching how they defend their braindead role Im continuously watching tanks going in like if they were a flanker and survive already hurt my soul.

When i bust down theories on why they wouldn’t work in practice in a long thread or even make a long post about suggestions that would please everyone then no one checks the thread so theres that.

Tanks right now are considered an OP DPS at the moment at least by me. Simple way to do that is check the scoreboard. Tanks pretty much outdamage and outkill the DPS role. Which was specialized in doing that.

My point here is that making that happen with specialized tanks. If they have low damage but high sustain ignore them but if it’s the other way around focus them. Right now they have both.

I’d say torbs turret is pretty much a meh thing unless you are 1v1 ing or it’s at some weird spot like high ground last point havana. Which you can just shoot it down. Only proper turret + character combo that is worrying is symmetra. Which her turrets have like 50 HP or whatever.

Paladins actually does achieve that though. Even with a passive anti heal on every character that racks up overtime in match or items you can buy in match like LoL to do extra damage against shields etc.

That’s pretty much my problem with the game. It just feels like GOATS 2.0

Because apparently shooting at a destroyable shield with CD was worse than shooting at a bullet sponge you know.

So stop shooting them.

Literally walk over or around them and go engage a squishy. Every time you catch yourself shooting tank before one or two squishies die, SWITCH TARGETS.

All the new maps make it super easy to just walk around the tank. Old maps are harder, but high ground means you can just walk over the tank to get an angle on their backline.

Talked about shooting supports before like i said all the time. And yes map design was one of the problems i mentioned. Game shouldn’t be centered around tanks this much. Everyone should be equal in a way like it’s a team game so you don’t get rolled after your tank dies.

And yes. I do switch targets when i get the chance.

Pretty much, making tanks thrice as important as everyone else is the same mistake Riot made making Junglers the core of the game. And nobody liked it.

They are really-really dependant on DPS and Tank choices too. Nerfed Hog can be focused down by most of the characters and pretty much ignored too because the Hook is not threatening anymore. Thats one reason why i was against nerfing Hook even though i hate it. Orisa can be pretty much ignored because if shes busy protecting herself then the others can get past her and kill the backline. The same applies to Ramattra. Queen can be easily focused down but not ignored. Wrecking Balls biggest weakness is to ignore him. When it comes down the problematic ones are Sigma and Rein because they can fight back against both.

TL;DR they are specialized by the enemy teams composition except for the 2-3 S tier characters that i would say are Sigma and Rein

Its just a nitpick but they are 30 so a quick melee destroys them. It doesn’t change much though because their placement is the key.

I know that sadly… I don’t play it nowadays but i only played Khan, Tiberius and Kinessa back then and used the “Shield constantly regenerates” card for Khan.

I’d say hog requires more skill now since he has to shoot , hook and then shoot again. Rather than something like a 25m hook just giving him an easy kill.

My experience is not really the same tbh. Both playing as and against her. She is like a bully rather than protector or whatever. Just find a wall to get behind from time to time for a couple of secs if your abilities are on CD. If you try to get past her she’ll just spin you in to a wall , pin you with javelin and finish you off with her primary.

If you ignore WB he will kill your healers. If you don’t he will still probably do it but he will also distract you. He is considered OP at the moment so i’m not gonna comment.

Yeah same. If ranked didn’t take ages to play with all the pick and ban i’d actually try to play it. Playing just quickplay gets pretty boring IMO.

As an Orisa main i get why others hate her and that most people hate the spin the most but like its the only thing that makes her faster. What i would change is to make her spin have constant speed boost both in and out of fight but with less speed and knockback.

My experience is te opposite when i play with a support-DPS-Tank trio. But maybe because of the latter, that Orisa can bully him with throwing Javelin and knock him away then its enough for a while because Grapple is on cooldown. I don’t really know the Support perspective because my least hours played is in that role.

You don’t ask for nerfs for skill issues.

The reason why tanks go RAID BOSS is because their team is backing them up too. Maybe you should like… get some elims on the rest of the team before you scream for nerfs.

Also calling this “GOATS 2.0” is the encyclopedia definition of Hyperbole.

So why this only happens to tanks then? Tanks go raid boss because they are raid bosses, nothing else. As long as they have a support they are raid bosses.

How else would they make space?
