Umm yes it is. PC players CANNOT opt out of crossplay. There is no option to get out of it. On console it is also on by default, so unless you knew it was an option you’d be thrown into PC players immediately. That and you need PC players to drag you in as well.
I understand you completely. I was trying to show the game to a friend of mine and the tank was complaining that his team didn’t have any DPS (I wasn’t playing well because that wasn’t my concern). Guys, it’s quick play, stop complaining. How else is someone supposed to learn the game?
It’s not?
Console to PC crossplay only activates if you group up with a PC player.
Now read their message again.
It’s a forum, yet you people cannot read…
Contradictory statements in a row
i dont know a single pvp game that is new player friendly, unless of course the game is brand new
Counter-Strike. It’s popular because literally anyone can play it, from a small child to a senior citizen. You just press W until you reach an angle to hold and then click mouse if enemy shows up.
This isn’t true either. They changed how it works in August last year, when they added official mouse and keyboard support to the game on console.
On console there are 2 separate pools, Mouse & Keyboard and Controller: -
If you choose to play in the M&K Pool, you will queue with console players that are using M&K, and ALL PC players, regardless of whether they use a M&K or a controller. Aim assist is disabled.
If you choose to play in the Controller Pool, if you have a M&K hooked up you can still use it in the menus and to type messages, but it won’t work for playing the game. You will only be queued with other console players in the Controller Pool and aim assist is enabled.
Console players have separate internal MMR and rank data for each pool.
On PC you are always placed in the M&K Pool and aim assist is always disabled, even if you’re using a controller. Ideally, I reckon PC players should have access to both pools, cos you’re at a serious disadvantage if you’re a controller user on PC. That said, it’s probably such a small percentage of the PC player base that it’s not worth Blizzard’s time.
Yes, new players are placed against vets all the time in QP. I think it’s dumb. A common thing I’ve seen recently is like getting a new tank + dps but me and the other supp on the team are really high level. And then the enemy team is full of people who know how to play but are not that high level but they aren’t new at all. As if the game expects the 2 supps to carry the 3 new players against a whole team of people who overall have less playtime, but obviously know how to play the game with some competency at least.
You’re right that in Valo they usually put newbies with newbies and it’s not a hard stomp from my experience.
???
Cross play on consoles only interacts with other consoles. A console player using M&K will join the PC player pool.
Cross play on PC and the controller pull, only happens when the console player is grouped up with a PC player.
Aim assists is not available when playing in the PC player pull.
New players playing against any enemy player that’s remotely comfortable on Vendetta will be a miserable experience because of how busted she is.
No aim required. Cleave damage. Attacks that increase in swing speed (which is laughable because it only takes like 3 swipes so it’s just tossed in for laughs). Incredible mobility. Damage blocking. Strikes down flying heroes. Is it a bloated kit yet?
What can’t she do? Heal herself. Dang, tragic.
same, almost every game in QP for me has at least one teammate thats a new account. i used to think it was bots, but im not sure that Blizzard would fill games like that
if youre struggling, play vs bots until you unlock ranked, then only play ranked. bronze/silver lobbies will be alot more balanced and enjoyable for you guys.
in my 9 yrs of playing this game, ive never seen a qp match where everyone is bronze/silver. there might be 1-3 of them but the other half of the lobby is plat-masters. qp is for nonsense, ranked is for actual balanced matches. ranked has alot more value than simply being a ladder to climb, its sole purpose is to make the most balanced matches possible for you
New accounts start their MMR at zero. As you keep playing the game, the better you keep doing, the higher-level MMR players you will go against.
This would be correct if people did not play low hour/new account alts to stomp or to help boost a low ranked duo friend. It can be very onesided.
Play vs bots, find another group of noobs and make a premade or coach them 1 by 1.
Introducing new players to a 10 year old game with a billion different hero comps is never going to be a good experience.
yea you are right about the game being old and trying to play with veterans. its like if i go try apex legends again when its been out for years. i would be a fish out of water
people would destroy me over there since a lot of them play that game EVERYDAY since its release and here is little old me who maybe played it a couple of times here and there the first year it came out lol
Been 6+ months since I had a new account but they used to force you into bronze level matches for the first few even if you destroy the other team.
So either you won some games and now you are playing vs people where raw aim cant allow you to win anymore OR something is off with the MM.
Literally the best way to learn maps with no pressure and still be able to progress
There likely just aren’t enough players to match you in a short amount of time without blending people across that vast of a difference in experience.
They should move the practice vs. AI thing to a quick play mode so it’s more visible and add one for stadium QP as well.
Also, they should improve the AI bots as well. The lethal bots have good aim, but they’ll do things like run in 1v5 and die repeatedly so it’s still not much of a game.
Ugh. I know. That’s why I added:
