If you play a hero and get to level 2 or beyond for perks, swapping heroes you should at least drop down to a level 2 and minor perk. Game prolly progressed by time you swap and to start over with nothing seems unfair for late game play. so at minimum if you could maintain minor perk status once you achieve it you have it for rest of match even if you swap heroes. Just my 2 cents.
Nah i prefer it the way it is.
It gives an actual reason to not counterswap. You can still get benefit from counterswapping but at least you get a bit more consequence for doing so.
It will be back to counterswapping after every fight if there is less consequence.
A majority of the perks are useless so you wouldn’t be hurt by swapping. Juno’s are so bad you can switch and not feel bad. If anything perks show who the devs prefer.
Part of having so many heroes is to be able to swap.
And you still can. But counterswapping is such a strong and effective gameplay method, its tedious and annoying for many.
Perks seems, at least to me, helps some heroes play better against their counters. It doesnt remove the counter but softens it.
Like JR, im still countered by pharah but i can kill her more often with the projectile speed boost. It softens the counter a tad.
The perks arent perfect and do need to be tuned. But i think losing your lvl xp by swapping is a good thing. It makes you question whether swapping is the right choice (and it often still is).
It also benefits players who really just dont like playing certain heroes. I cant stand playing hitscan its soooooo utterly boring to me. Now i dont complain the moment they whip out the pharah for my junk.
Game is much more enjoyable to me now.
But nothing changes though, say you like playing 1 hero and one hero only. I come out of gate see you on that hero swap then instead of later. Your just making me want to swap to your counter earlier then later. Would you rather i counter you when game starts or midway through game if i cant push through? I just won’t take the gamble with the way perks are now…
I was getting counter swapped instantly before this season in most games.
And if i had to swap to counter their counter, someone, either the same person or someone else on their team would then swap to counter again. Fight after fight.
Now there’s way less counterswapping. As you say, it happens after the first fight (which it always did anyway), then a few fights where theres little to no countering until later in the game.
Some heroes still get instant countered like doom and ball. But other than them I’ve noticed a great decrease in countering. And that makes the game more fun to me. Playing against hard counters in virtually every single fight in every game makes me log off. Its tedious not fun. It still happens, just less often.
It might make a few people pause, but the people who are going to swap are going to swap regardless.
Because the counter is still a counter, especailly if there’s a park that counters another perks.
I think the perk should be like ultimate - keep a bit of charge to get to level 1, but level 2 is too much.
Also I play mystery heroes, where you automatically get 2 random perks, lol
I honestly thought that’s how it was already.
I’m pretty sure I’ve swapped from a lvl 2 hero and had 1/3 of the way through lvl 1 on the new hero.
And sometimes i level up super quick to lvl 2 after a swap so I’m not sure if they boost the xp gain as the round goes on. Or maybe i was just playing really well.
For sure people are going to swap. But the swapping before this season was madness. After every single fight. I’m noticing much less swapping now.
TBH I don’t know. I’ve played like 2 games of non-MH lol.
Yeah I’ll have to pay more attention next time i play. I’m pretty sure there already is something there though similar to the 15% ult charge continuity.
No.
There should be something that hinders people’s abilities to counterswap in a game that desperately needs that hinderance.
the perks system has been nothing but problems honestly with his season 15 or whatever this eeason is i feel its gonan be the killing blow
