QP is for fun. Sometimes you’re not having fun. So you leave. Who cares? I barely even play QP and only leave maybe 1 out of 10 games and still got suspended. I don’t even know how I could have triggered that. But here I am, complaining on the forums because I can’t play the game.
Ruining other peoples’ fun is still ruining other peoples’ fun.
If I quit constantly , I’d agree. But I’ve quit maybe 3 games out of the last 30. And one of them the server booted me. And that is like 20 days of QP for me since I mainly play comp. How is that worthy of a suspension? QP is supposed to be casual. Should be allowed to be at least a little casual with it.
You shouldn’t be suspended for 3 games out of 30. The limit is 4 out of the last 20. And I agree that server disconnects are pretty crappy. Blizzard needs to improve their server uptime.
Considering you need to have 5 leaves out of your last 20 games to start getting penalized, yeah, not so sure about that.
Honestly, it’s gotten to the point where I just just turn off the wifi to my computer. Doesn’t hit as badly because you’re not hitting that “quit” button.
Point still stands that any kind of suspension/penalization in QP is just stupid. Sure, it ruins the fun of others, but if my fun is being ruined because the people on my team suck, that’s their problem. I shouldn’t be forced to sit through a match with a bunch of noobs and then get steamrolled by a 5-stack that’s been playing since day one and then expected to be okay with that.
You all need to drop this argument because it doesn’t work
Then why is it seen as acceptable to int games and go 2 -12 as a DPS playing into hard counters getting 0 value clewrly not caring and use the excuse “its just QP”
Because, I know this may sound crazy, but there are people STILL LEARNING. Not everyone is a veteran. Some people are just now picking up the game to play with friends
The difference is intent. People don’t usually intend to get counterswapped, but people clearly intend to hit the leave button/continue playing on inadequate internet.
people selectively leaving doesnt account for all leavers in games
Then let me leave the game and try get luckier with matchmaking.
They inted to make the game harder for everyone else if they want to spend the entire game coming back frpm spawn making it a 4v5
We perhaps need a quicker play(not what the devs suggested) where people can play really braindeadly without stress.
Yet another person saying they don’t like the punishment who has exactly the attitude the punishment is supposed to be affecting.
Wowz.
But even then, one could say that people who are bad are intentionally bad because they have resources to get better, yet they refuse to touch them. They refuse to learn counters. They refuse to swap.
That’s the kind of argument that we’re making, right?
That if my fun is compromised because someone didn’t do their due diligence and look at these characters before playing and attempt to learn them, it’s their fault. Same as if I leave because I refuse to play with new people who refuse to learn characters before they get into a game.
It’s the same exact thing as LOL. If you try to play LOL without learning, you get flamed to the point where you quit and never touch the game again out of fear of being verbally berated until you’re in tears. Sure, negative reinforcement might be a bit harsh, but if someone isn’t going to try to get better and they’re constantly sandbagging, they shouldn’t play the game.
My fun is ruined when I’m expected to be a babysitter and teach new people how to play an 8 year old game that literally has a website that you can pull up and find out all of the information about every little thing.
My fun is ruined when I play tank and I have 2 sniper DPS that refuse to switch, constantly die, can’t hit their shots, and won’t come within a foot of the point.
My fun is ruined when supports are constantly complain about every little thing going so “horribly wrong for them” the entire match.
So if they’re upset about their fun being ruined, maybe they need to look at the cause of all of those issues and adjust themselves and get better.
So why is throwing, refusing to switch, refusing to play the objective, refusing to cooperate and work as a team any better than someone just saying “F*** it” and leaving?
You can’t improve without doing. You need to practice aiming and performing fancy techs. You can look up how to do something, but that doesn’t mean you can do it. I’ve watched a lot of Dark Souls speedruns, and I still can’t do the Duke skip. Why? Because I don’t practice it. It’s the same when dealing with lackluster teammates. Want to cry about it and leave? You’ll never learn how to compensate for it and push your winrate up. Even 4v5’s are winnable if the enemy makes enough mistakes.
You completely missed the point of what I said and it shows.
They have a shooting range (which never existed before OW 2) to spend time practicing flicks, trickshots, just aiming in general, and yet they don’t do it. If they did and practiced for a little while, they’d get better. Especially with the targets and randomly moving bots.
They have practice vs. AI which supposedly mimics top tier players (on the highest difficulty at least), so they’d actually be able to get some idea of what it would feel like to play in a real match if they’ve never played before. Get an idea for how the different objectives work, find different paths for flanking, etc.
You’re entire argument is about singling out the people who know what they’re doing and saying “Hey, I know your teammates are literally the worst new people to the game, but YOU need to compensate since you know what you’re doing.” Which is what MY entire argument was against.
Do I compensate for horrible teammates? All the time.
Do I do it because I want to? No.
Why? Because if I drop 20k damage as a tank, have the most kills, have the least deaths, am always preventing my supports from dying, but my DPS is constantly diving and dying, I don’t feel rewarded for carrying 2 roles.
These new players have more resources given to them than the OGs ever did, and they don’t take advantage of it to get them up to speed on what characters are good, what heroes are good for what maps, who counters who, etc. They just expect to be carried, and that’s the problem.
Hell, they even have custom games that will give you tools to improve your aim on constantly moving targets. First one that pops into mind is the map designed to help train headshots with Widow and McCree.
And people like you who say “Well, you just need to compensate for them” and defending them because “Oh, they’re new and they don’t know any better” needs to stop.
Because, to be frank, I’m tired of carrying people who don’t deserve to win since they don’t put in the effort to get better. Sure, they can play all day, but most of them do the same stupid s*** every single match and refuse to learn from what they’re doing.
For instance, I kept running into this Bastion tonight while I was playing. Every single match, he would walk out into the middle of the fight, turn into his little sentry, and get melted within 2 seconds. I probably saw him do this 20 times throughout the night across different matches. If he didn’t learn from the first 20 times, what makes you think he’ll learn and get better in the future?
This game isn’t for everyone. Most FPS games aren’t for everyone. Trying to make this game for everyone is ruining for the people who still care about the core of this game, which has been lost.
Not reading all this in a thread about leaver penalties
Yeah, sure.
How do you people do that?
I leave daily 1 - 2 games, because I hate trashpoint maps and sometimes I just have to go due personal stuff/internet.
No suspension so far. You have to leave more.
I don’t get it euther. I have left games for reasons or bad internet a ton. Usually in the character select and i have never gotten a suspension.i have gotten suspended more in ow1 if anything
