QP penalty logic?

  • Go into QP
  • get into match
  • Push
  • match is midprogress and team is getting stomped
  • Leave
  • Penalized

Matchmaking is so bad that this is a common occurrence, I’m not against a QP penalty because I think its a good way for people to take a break if they get frustrated but sometimes matches are just so bad that it’s not fun at all. The logic is “we put you into a losing game but you need to understand you ruin it for others when you leave it!”. I don’t get it.

And before people say “you shouldn’t leave games in the first place”, you are guilty of this, everyone is. We all have left games for many different reasons, not that I am defending the reasons. If anything the penalty just makes people not wanna play at all but I guess thats the point to keep “bad” players away

I think the people who support the leaver penalties know this. You act like it’s not what they wanted :joy:

“you are guilty of the devs adding a feature you asked for and you’re now happy about being a thing”

duh

The penalties are there to stop serial leavers.

Before the penalties were a thing, you could end up with 10 or more leavers per match.

i’m saying those people are guilty of doing it themselves then pretending they never do it

Imagine if people didn’t leave and you didn’t get backfilled into a losing match.

The problem here is that person A left. You, person B, backfilled. According to forum quitter fans, backfill is great and flawless and the team with the backfiller gets a better player and everything will be okay, except, no. Because Person B also leaves. And now person C is backfilled. And they don’t want to be there anymore than person A or B so they also leave. And now those poor players who stuck around have absolutely 0 chance of ever turning the match around.

Leaving is a problem. Backfill isn’t a solution. Penalties help moderate the leaving problem. It’s not a perfect solution, especially not how Blizzard implemented it, but it’s better than nothing.

Oh, my bad, then. Misunderstanding on my part :+1:

Don’t think that’s true either, but still, misunderstanding.

You can leave 2 of your last 20 games without a penalty.
It’s allowed, but the more you do it, the more you are a problem for your teammates. It can take minutes to get a backfill sometimes.

So the more you leave, the harsher the penalty.
