The addition of Freja has made tanking even less fun than it was before she arrived. Her constant and very high damage is so easy to farm on tank that she spends a lot of time putting her right-clicks into them to farm ult.
Ana is the main problem though. About half the tanks are affected negatively by her, and at least 2-3 can be near unplayable (in anything resembling a fun way) by the other team just switching to Ana and completely shutting them down with a braindead easy aoe ability. When there is a hero that gets pulled out every time you play certain tanks, where’s the fun in tanking if those are the heroes you most strongly gel with? Answer, it’s nowhere to be found.
The number of games I have where I’m having fun for a fight or 2, not necessarily doing that well, and they pull out Ana and the fun is completely sucked out of the game. Add in a sombra and/or mei and I’m just going to sit back and not try too hard and get to the next game as quickly as possible (QP only of course).
In QP the chance your supports will switch off mercy/moira/ana/juno and go kiriko to help out are almost zero (and since I’m not switching I don’t mind that).
The answer is to switch (or get good to work around her, but that’s not happening), but then what’s the point of having favourite tanks if 1 hero, that’s in most games anyway, makes it so you can never have fun on those heroes?
