It’s not odd if the currently existing indicators aren’t enough.
How I said first of the range of that Sound is extremely small you need to stand right next to Sombra to hear the typing sounds and right next to the Hacked target to her the Voice line.
Also, the voice lines are completely random and do not fit they mostly just say something like “damned”.
She has not more then any other CC acually she has less nad worse.
A stun always has some kind of flashing and a voice line (And the Sound of the ability) of the Hero that uses the stun while also have some kind of visual effect on the stunts targets.
But let’s get into longtime CC’s because that is what matters.
Sleep:
Has a Voiceline of Ana + a loud (Big range) ability sound both when shoot and when hit, has good Visuals above the target.
Anti-nade:
Has a Voiceline of ana + a loud (Big range) ability sound when it hits the floor.
Discord:
Has an extremely good purple Visual both over the head of the enemy while also having Visuals floating around the body.
Hack.
Has a Bad red on red Visual’s (Actually why is hack’s color the direct opposite of everything else) with nothing outside of the Target. Has a Voiceline on the enemy that’s hard to hear (Short range) and does not sound like someone getting hacked more like getting hit in the leg or something.
And has the normal ability noises.
Yes defenetly fair.
i don’t know how you think its “unfair” when sombra gets more indications than all of them, i can hear a hack pretty fine and i can tell pretty easily who is hacked. i usually die quickly when im hacked
you’re also comparing a support to a dps, hack is usually only used for sombra herself. teammates are a bonus
Wow very accurate example only problem that the Gunshots the Voice chat and all sound in the game are like 100 times louder and you’re in the heat of a battle With lots of reds (Barriers, other enemies etc etc.)
Play Sombra for a while and see you’re teammates doing nothing to hacked targets.
same could be said about discord and ana abilites
in the middle of a fight, sombra hacking someone is not hidden, you can even see the long string thing on sombra hacking someone
No, it can’t because ana’s is louder and have a higher sound range.
And both are not red they are purple on red with is WAY better visuals.
In no way, you can’t compare them in Visually.
Which is still red on red on a Team with red barriers, Red shots and red outlines…
what do you mean by louder? sombra’s hacking sounds are equally “loud”
you have a point there about the color, doesn’t make sense to make it appear red’ish when enemy team is red too
Blizzard
p l e a s e
give us this. ;-;
I want it so that my teammates have to be dumb to not capitalize on a hack. Verbal communication doesn’t seem to always work, and it somehow becomes my fault they don’t know who to focus when hacked T_T
- They are less noticeable (they are easily taken as Background noses)
- They have less range you need to be closer to hear hacking noises then you need anti nade noises
For the Color yes its weird look at Zen’s orb or Moira’s ball for the allies they look purple for the enemy red.
For whatever god da*e reason Sombra is the opposite.
there is no anti nade sounds, there is only a nade splashing sound
the player needs to confirm it themselves while sombra has a distinct sound when someone is hacked. she actually has a easier time than ana
Which is the sound of the ability.
The problem is not Sombra or Ana seeing it but the Teammates. (Also ana has the hit marker she gets)
If you are Sombra Hack is easy to spot but for a Teammate that mid fight to be able to see and hear it while also fighting is to much.
We just should reduce the parts moving around the enemy to a similar Level Zen has things that float around the body and add something over the head (most likely as skull) of hacked enemies. It would only help her when she has Teammates that aren’t in Voice and it does no harm to anybody.
Okay, so what annoys me about Sombra’s hack visuals are the inconsistency and difficulty seeing it. So if a friendly Sombra hacks a health pack, it appears purple and if an enemy sombra hacks a health pack it will appear red. So logically anyone would think if my foes get hacked they’ll be purple and my teammates will be red but nope it’s the complete opposite.
Considering red is used to convey danger than unless a teammate has prior knowledge of what Sombra’s hack visuals look like, they might end up thinking that the foe might have some sort of buff rather than the actual debuff they got.
Even if they do know what it looks like, it can be hard to spot and notice due to the red on red.
So basically Sombra’s hack visuals are terrible because
They lack consistency between the colors for hacked players and healthpacks
They break the rule of red being used to convey danger or an obstacle
They’re hard to spot due to the red on red.
Now there were some bugs with the OWL skins in which you could get the visual indicitator for Sombra’s hack to appear different than the colored silhouette of a foe making it much more visible and pronounced. Unfortunately, they got fixed.
Yes because “bwuh,” is so informative to your teammates. Sombra’s hack is supposed to be for her team, not just herself.
