You are always defending Blizzard’s decisions no matter how bad they are and speaking as if everyone thinks the same thing you say. 10000% sure you work for Blizzard.
I only bought the PvE for the cutscenes and Sojourn skin, lol.
I am HEAVILY invested in the story. That’s why I love Mauga very much.
PvE though? It would had been stale by the end of the year. Helldivers 2 will fall off once Shadow of the Erdtree drops, and then SotE will fall off when the next trendy game comes around.
The sad part was, the ones who wanted PvE were willing to wait a long time for PvE, and understood it will take a long time. We weren’t even rushing them.
I thought PvE was the way to tell the story. I thought the gameplay would be a way to teach new players how to play… but Blizzard really fumbled
PvE was certainly for copers. Goons like me coping and swearing PVE would change some things and make Overwatch relevant again. We’d have lore videos on youtube nitpicking the way Mercy looked at a picture of Doomfist, there’d be side content of Roadhog and Junkrat’s irradiated shenanigans.
Fan animations (for all ages), Music videos! A golden age of Overwatch would happen thanks to new and exciting campaign cutscenes, lore, and gameplay elements breathing new life into this franchise.
OH! It was all cope! I was on that banned military grade copium! The kind the US buried in Mexico and swore they had nothing to do with it. Right next to the ET game landfill! That’s what I was smoking!
Nah. Getting in the studio with Netflix and letting the art team shine on the big screen is the way to money and success for Blizzard. EVERYONE wants an Overwatch series/movie. Nobody but NPCs want PvE.
Libra your doctor is on the phone. They mixed up your laxative with psychedelics. You need to call them back asap.
oh i absolutely wanted pve…and lost all interest when they announced how they were basically gutting the entire idea…
none of that of course stopped them from turning it into a money sink as well…
so while i dont care for the pve now…it wasnt always the case
With PVE being dead, that means the PVE that I bought will always be dead. Not worth the $15 bucks.
That’s the reason a lot of people wanted PvE though? They wanted to see the story.
yes, we did. there was A LOT of potential with single player/story missions they completely missed out on.
No? You for real there bud? PVE was the selling point of OW2. It was the entire reason for the 2 in the title.
Been in Masters since season 3 or 4 of OW1 and reached GM several times.
I was very much looking forward to it.
This is as false as it gets. More people would rather play PvE games than PVP games by a long shot. They announced a PvE sequel as a separate game originally, they should have delivered what was promised, choosing to never deliver on that promise will keep this game in the gutter alongside the now garbage PVP gameplay that apparently didn’t need to change to 5v5 after all.

Crazy how people are just okay with overwatch not being more than what it could be
netflix is overpriced garbage that needs to be shutdown like seriously most of the content on netflix is pure garbage
On Blizzcon 2019 it sure wasn’t.
I brought OW1 after i saw Junkenstein trailer in 2016. I had no interest in buying a online-only pvp game. I spend a loads of time on pve. Even though those stats were not counted.
I was excited when they announced OW2 with Hero Missions, Talent System & Campaign. I watched those video were they showcased talent system over and over again. I was that excited. I did not mind waiting for it to release. I was in no hurry. There is a proverb that says " Good things come to those who wait" so i waited.
I did enjoy my time in Gauntlet. The ability to play any heroes i can even though i’m terrible at them in PvP was my another reason i was excited to play more PvE.
There is also another proverb that says “All good things comes to end”. Has much i liked playing OW over the years. I’m exhausted and i will be signing off from the game at the end of the year.
PvP comes first for me and always did. That’s why unlike most people, I’m not that upset over the loss of PvE. I can see why some people were excited for it though. But for no PvE to be a deal-breaker and quitting the game? Sounds a bit overdramatic to me. Especially considering how Overwatch has always been first and foremost a PvP game.
I don’t know about others but for me, the loss of PvP would be a deal-breaker for me. Not the other way around.
the implication is that the only people that were so invested in the pve mode/content were the people who were hard stuck in the metal ranks
effectively because they couldnt be good in pvp, so they’d want some other outlet
not entirely wrong, its fairly common that pve players in games are really bad at pvp but its a bit rude to put it this way
