PSA to dps mains - please learn Juno's ult

This hero is new and fun, and that’s great. But it’s very clear that dps players do not understand her ult AT ALL. And I don’t even mean the dps players who run away from their Juno’s ult. I am primarily talking about the very obvious dps mains playing Juno, and using her ult at the wrong time.

Juno’s ult is like Zen and Mercy’s ult combined - a mass heal and mass dmg boost, just in a smaller range. Despite what your microscopic tunnel visioned brain might think, both Zen and Mercy’s ults are very strong team fight winners on their own, when the team is close. But not only does your team need to be aware of positioning, you also must use it at the right time.

To dps players queueing support and picking Juno:
Please stop blowing this ult at the same time the other support does!!! You literally are giving the enemy team the very next team fight for free. I have lost count of the number of times I’ve nano’d our ulting Genji, or sound barrier’d our team when enemy isn’t even ulting, or group dmg boosted our team against an ulting Ram… but then my Juno teammate blows the ult for no reason at all.

Unless the enemy team is stacking multiple damage ults against you like Grav/Dragon or Bob/Visor, and the other support’s ult won’t cover it, please stop stacking support ults. You are soft throwing with your premature ultulation. Learn some game sense, or go back to playing Moira or Illari where using your ult at any time is almost never a bad idea.

To dps players playing as support:
For you it’s simple - run into the ult and dps hard, as you will be protected by supports. Press tab and look at your Juno’s ult status. Did you even know that exists?

This post should show that I am clearly tilted. But it isn’t just Juno’s ult being misunderstood. It’s dps mains queueing as support, picking anything that looks dps friendly, and then playing the heroes all wrong. What makes it so much worse with Juno is that her ult is very high up there on the strategic usage side, but so many obvious dps mains have no idea when and where to use it, or what to do when their Juno teammate pops it. This is in contrast to Moira and Illari who basically have dps ults, so they are much more dps friendly than Juno who requires actual strategic thinking of when and where to pop the ult, because you don’t use it against your enemy, you are using it on your teammates!

Go into practice range for just 5 minutes worth of Juno ults, and your matches will improve dramatically. And so will my sanity. Thank you.

EDIT: another point to consider - if you have trouble knowing when to use Bap, Lucio, Brig, Mercy or Zen’s ult, you won’t understand when to use Juno’s ult either.

If you want to actually learn, I’d recommend Brig first, because you can be on the attack the whole match, then pop the ult when your team is brawling up close in a team fight. After that you can graduate Zen and know when to prevent a team wipe. Then you are promoted into Juno or Mercy which I’d say are close in terms of how their ults should be used.

I’d say Bap’s and Kiriko have ults that require the most strategic thinking to get the best value.

To be fair, Ive heard its pretty blinding to stand in.

At this point I’ve accepted the team won’t stand in the ultimate, so I use it for myself.

I have died an awful lot trying to use that ult. In theory it’s a better Bap window but in practice you just get a tank ult thrown at you and you die.

Always ult when Juno ults, lesson learned.

So press q to ult got it :+1:

Going to be honest, Juno’s ult has good numbers, but it just sucks with movement.

Should be able to guide it with Q or even have it stay still.
