I think in general they should change Valkyries voice line back to the I will watch over you.

Michael Chu said they reverted the voice line because it didnt sound impactful enough but neither is her ultimate anymore so it would make sense to change it back as per her lack of game changing potential in Valkyrie.

My suggestion for Valkyrie voicelines:

  • I’m soooooo booooored
  • My player is getting some tea
  • So, anyone played any good games recently?
  • I got really good at playing Mercy for this?
  • Heroes never… sigh
  • SIGH
  • Anyone wishes to switch ultimate with me?
  • Time for the pistol, please don’t report me.

Voicelines for rez:

  • Cause waving my hand is so taxing on my legs that I can hardly move

This is supposed to be a positive post for Valkyrie voice lines, not for debating how fun/un-fun Mercy is.

I see no possible way to associate anything positive to Valkyrie, and seeing people attempting to do so disgusts me

From a 200+ hr Mercy Main
Valkyrie to me is engaging and quite impactful for me
60 hp/s x 5
30% damage boost x 5
Infinite ammo
Free flight
Uninterruptible regenerative health
Increased Guardian Angel, Healing/Damage Beam, and Resurrect Range
Increased Guardian Angel Speed

…Like? I’m really high-key confused when people say Valkyrie is unfun/unimpactful when it has so much going for it. I agree it could use some visual updates to make it look more epic and also that it could use more different voice lines (Which is why we’re supposed to be here), but to say it’s 100% boring or 100% a bad ultimate is just naive and childish.

I think you need to relax with a warm cup of Coffee, Tea, or hot chocolate, and just take a breather. It’s just a videogame and this post is positive and for fun and feed back for the Devs.

Some people just have different tastes, which is fine. I’m in the same boat as you, I like Valkyrie as an ultimate. It could probably use a few tweaks like faster firing speed instead of infinite ammo maybe, but I think it’s mainly E rez that makes her feel sluggish to play at times. That’s just me though.

On topic, I think I’m one of the few people who liked “Amplifying Biotic Stream” since it fits Valkyrie the most, so I would love this~

I appreciate the support and I do agree that E-Res was a bit of a mistake.
And yes, I think Pink Mercy is a wonderful thing :slight_smile:

These are all bad things from an enjoyment perspective in my view. Mercy’s kit is absolutely dumbed down during Valkyrie. The skill you develop playing Mercy outside of her ult is not needed during Valkyrie.

  • Great positioning skill is not needed due to free flight and long beam-range.
  • Survival is not as difficult due to uninterruptible regeneration and long beam-range.
  • Target prioritization and beam-juggling is not needed due to chain-beams
  • Guardian angel, which is arguably the most fun ability in Mercy’s kit, feels less enjoyable due to free flight

Additionally: there is no increased Guardian Angel speed, they nerfed that away…

So, the only way I see Valkyrie being engaging is if you decide to go Battle Mercy. For other use-cases the ultimate is designed not to need your skill as a player. It’s a horrible design, and it has a horribly long duration. If it had a 5 second duration at most it would be fine, but you spend over 10% of your total playtime in Valkyrie mode and for that time you as a player hardly matters…

No, it’s definitely still there. The original nerf post stated that they nerfed the speed of guardian angel in Valkyrie by 50%, not 100%.

This is quite possibly the worst idea I’ve ever heard. No offense but that sounds like the description of a basic ability and you’ve stated you already think Valkyrie is bad when it isn’t. Making it 5 seconds would make Mercy feel terrible to play. This makes no sense

I switched that over to Imp/Devil, and I personally LOVE the “Go my servants, Destroy them!” voice line.

But what about the enemy voiceline “Gemeinsam Kämpfen Wir!”
In my opinion, it sounded amazing. “I Will Watch Over You” also sounded great to me and the way you replied was kinda rude for no good reason, but to each their own I guess.

Except for it’s not a good voice line as it doesn’t fit at all and doesn’t ensure that the heroes on your team won’t die. And Valkyrie IS powerful, I’m not sure how people simply refuse to believe that it is. It’s a powerful stalling tool, it’s amazing for initializing a push and if you have a pogger second healer and you focus on Damage Boosting? That team fight’s over sweety.
People need to realize that they don’t need an insta-team kill or insta-team res to be impactful.

The only changes I see that are needed for valk is a small buff for res in valk, more visual changes to make it look and feel more epic, and of course these voice lines.

Oh sweaty it’s trash at all of those things and watch over you being a pitiful voiceline isn’t rude. It’s not like you’re the voice actor. It sounds passive and impotent so while it’s fitting for valk in that regard, it’s not ultimate sounding

And I will disagree with you and more importantly, I will actively disagree with everybody who brings it up on the forums but I will respect your right to be wrong. But back on topic, the voiceline still sucks and Heroes never die is more iconic and has oomph in it.

And who says “I Will Watch Over You” won’t be made more epic. I mentioned in the changes I suggested that they keep the exact same voice lines for the Resurrect ability, but just take away the echo effect the ult line has. It would be there and be epic. I don’t need your negativity.

Because she is watching over you. By the very context of the words it’s a weak sentence that implies a passive nature in her activity.

Than you’d be taking it a very wrong way. Watching over someone means you’re protecting them and making sure they stay safe
