It does, and im pretty sure i play at your level maybe even lower, even just a decent widow on the enemy team adds so much pressure on anubis defense, she’s great there
Bro these aren’t even that high-iq strats it’s simple Overwatch. I’m in plat/diamond and some of these rules/strats are being applied.

I’m going to assume it’s a low enough rank where widow isn’t hitting her shots, so of course she’s going to be bad on defense. She’s going to be bad in general.

As long as the Widow actually gets picks and has the aim to do so, it will work out. I guess that’s the problem in that rank anyways is they can’t aim correctly.

I go Ashe when playing Anubis. My crit hit accuracy is bad, but chucking dynamite into the openings usually gets 3-4 enemies per shot, and I’m not afraid of gold widows.

Too be fair a Widow that can’t hit her shots is going to be terrible at any point in the game.
So if you’re in a rank where Widow can’t make her shots than yes you’ll be better with basically any other DPS.
But if the Widow can make shots than Anubis defense is a great for her.

There are a couple of insane widows in gold, but they’re gold because their game sense is horrible.

That is definitely true. I faced one on Gibraltar (a map I HATE) and without an active dive tank line, she just sat on the ship in the hangar and got to farm the doors for free.
Pretty sure my winston was throwing that game, he literally refused to go with the dva unto the widow and just focused the enemy hog all game. And it’s not like the dva wasn’t yelling at him constantly to help him.

The thing is, widow can still be good even in low ranks.
It depends on each individual widow.

Yeah but in general, the lower the rank, the lower the skill level. I play in gold as dps, and in masters as support, and when the enemy has a widow, it’s night and day how you have to play. You can pretty safely peek a gold widow… you stick your head out for a milisecond in masters, you’re dead.

Widow is great on defense on Anubus? Assuming she has the space help from her team. It’s not even a matter of high rank or not? I mean if Widow is constantly missing then yeah but that’s a player problem not a Widow problem.

All she can do is guard the entrance on Anubis defense. There are left and right bypasses that shorten the distance on first point. Widows effectiveness starts to drop as soon as the they breach the gate. Impossible to keep a competent attacking team from breaching the gate. After the breach, it is just a brawl. Widow isn’t a brawler.
Thats the worst use of widowmaker. Widowmaker is not a guard dog lol
