Is involuntary sharing information with every rando also ‘one of the fundamentals to team building’? Because this is what public profile by default is.
This wasn’t a comment on the same person targeting another over and over. It was a comment on the same person being targeted over and over for the same reason by multiple people over the course of their experience.
Oerhaps, But for all they know this is a one time deal and not the only hero they play. Not to mention people are less likely to grief by taking that person’s hero just to prevent them from doing so.
Either way it reduces the chance of targeting.
Classic victim blaming. Don’t hold the toxic person accountable. Point the blame at the person who just wants to play in peace.
all i just want to do is potentially see what can be better for the team, like a useful switch if someone isn’t performing well, asked with a polite question
You’re free to private your profile but you don’t get to bolster your opinions with things like “I’m a X main and I agree X should be nerfed.”, “I’m really good as playing X”, or “I’m Rank X.”
The opinion of people with hidden profiles carries the same weight as someone that has like 1 hour in game because as far as we know, you do.
I hide my profile primarily because of people like you. Because on this forum regardless of if my profile is private or public there are people who attempt to gatekeep conversation based on random prerequisites.
You don’t get to determine whether or not my point is valid or anyone else.
Yeah, I keep my profile private because nobody can act like an actual decent human being over it. If people wanna be jerks over it, then nobody gets to see it, simple. I came to play, not get criticized for my rank and hours.
The main reason I’d be against private profiles currently (but I’m not) would simply be to see other people’s rank so I can have some vague idea what elo it is. But even then, I look at profiles and see a diamond, a plat, and a gold and have none of my questions answered.
Honestly I’d love to see post game ranks and a post game leaderboard after the game is finished kinda like Valorant
quite honestly he could be getting masters/gms in his games because im in diamond and often get bronze/silvers dont believe me heres a some videos to prove it.

I admit knowing my teammates is a good thing since, if i play support, i know who to prioritize and who to leave for the wolves.
If they play tank, while i play support, and i see stats that are low, i’ll focus healing the squishies. The same can be said about positive stats as i know the tank is smart enough to retreat, i can focus on buffing other teammates.
Data is data. The more you have, the better.
How does having a private profile mean that it’s not valid for me to share my opinion on the characters in this game? I can main someone and still say that another character should be reworked. It doesn’t mean it will happen🤷🏼♀️
I have no issue with private profiles except when someone trashes someone else’s profile and they themselves have theirs private. This is easily 90% of the time.
And if their profile is public it usually isn’t comparatively impressive either, like a plat trashing on a gold.
I think the only solution is you cannot see anyone’s public profile unless yours is public too. And tie groups to this so the 1 person whose profile is public can’t see other public profiles unless their entire group has theirs public.

remove the parathensases and spaces and put “.” where it says (dot)
the other team had 3 masters
two of them in the DPS role while I’m in the DPS role, and I’m silver as tank/support/DPS
Yes, they produced the millennial generation.
That is just nonsense. No need for public profiles. If anything, it would be fair to indicate a FULL team has lower / higher elo then the opposing one does. However, that might give the lower team a mental disadvantage, so I guess that too will be more harmful then helpful.
The opinion should not be gatekept because of a hidden profile or not… Nor it should be kept because of ‘X hrs on a hero’ or ‘X rank’.
People like you are part of the reason why players do keep their profiles hidden. They just don’t want to be attacked over this stuff. Address arguments, not ranks, since it is just ad hominem fallacy then and your rebuttal is just garbage.
Why not? Isn’t it fun when people look at your profile to say something toxic? Maybe I’m weird but I love it and want it injected into my veins.
Then keep yours open I guess…
But most people do not enjoy dealing with toxicity on a daily basis…
I want to private mine because it’s wrong.
All of my stats from Overwatch 1 are gone.
Randos on your team are still teammates, so yes. It’s still a fundamental.
