one tricks in ranked are griefing esp off meta ones, cant play than one hero? don’t play comp. Also, people who have a mental that weak will give up regardless of the ranked icons being viewable. private profiles is a band aid solution that causes more issues than it fixes and promotes negative teamwork in a team based game. blizz could at least give us the most played in each role so im not playing the only hero my 2nd supp or dps plays.

There’s just people that don’t want their stats shown. Don’t make them cheaters. There’s been so many people that make fun of someone just cause of their SR being a little low.
Whatever role you qued for you Can always just simply message in chat who that person wants to pick, so you don’t take their main.

OP, you may or may not know this. But this is a post that gets frequently made.
The answer boils down to: "You are not entitled to information on other people (no matter how ‘trivial’ you think that information is.)"
If someone wants to share their profile information, they are free to do so. But Blizzard is not allowed to force open profiles (that would go against so many privacy laws.)
You cannot have that information if the player does not want to share it.
I will say, kinda this, but also didn’t blizzard say they were looking at ways to make some of the information public in the future? like showing what people play or something? am I mistaken?
I think they used to have that info public, like the three most played characters or something. I don’t recall hearing anything to the tune of them bringing it back though.
Probably became a ‘thing’ when a surplus of people became overwhelmingly tired of people starting arguments in VC about somebody being a ‘one trick’, ‘boosted’ accusations, etc. when in reality, the person talking was just mad that the other player didn’t take their advice on a character pick.

When did I deny it? I just think players have been given enough tools to deal with toxic people. No need to go overboard by killing features.

Now I know where I got it from. It was in the dev talk with eskay and jay3. They mentioned they were interested in bringing back something like the feature they used to have where it showed the 3 most played heroes that you mentioned, but that it was just a future thing and has no timeline

Not to mention it’s back tracking on the whole point on making career profiles private in the first place. So basically their “Defense Matrix Initiative” Is sounding more and more like a lie.
-They were going do SMS protection… didn’t do it.
-The Report Feature I swear is Broken on Console, or they just don’t care to follow up on reports any more.
-Now they don’t care about harassment people can get for their mains played ESPECIALLY if they want to try to play a different role than they typically do.

Only information in profile should be shown are:
- Rank
- Prefer hero (from 1 to 3 per role set by players for the season; It will be default to 1 top played hero per role by default)
- Undesirable hero to play
Everything else is irrelevant, even winrate. It should be hidden by default, unless opt out by the player.
I’ve dealt with it enough. Not on a literal daily basis but over 2+ decades. So what? It doesn’t matter. Just because I can handle it doesn’t mean you can, and you deserve to have tools to help you fight and prevent toxicity.

This is genius. However I should mention that if they put ranks back they would be going back on their defense matrix plan. I wouldn’t have an issue with that though because I think them getting rid of displayed ranks is allowing them to be dishonest with the MM. I’m all for them putting it back.
