The system is fundamentally flawed to the core. People throwing in off roles for the passes doesn’t help. Even in a perfect world where people try in every game they flex, eventually people are gonna have enough passes saved up to where they don’t need to flex anymore. Because of this, dps queues will go back up because people aren’t flexing after a while and every is going to use their 40 passes exclusively on DPS. It is just temporarily fixing the long dps queue times (and will potentially make them worse.)
This is definitely a band aid fix until overwatch 2 from blizzard. The only way I could see this working long term is if they reset your saved passes every season. Even then you might see larger waves of throwers at the beginning of the season, which is already its own problem with alt accounts. Once they fix the core problems with tank and support (the lack of hero options within those roles) the queue times will likely equalize.

I can burn through 40 passes in no time. I’ve done it at least twice since the system released.
Honestly, I believe the amount of passes you get for a win is a bit much, it’s 6 btw.

I haven’t used a single one. System says I don’t need to use them as queues are low. Or are they??
If you’re queuing for tank or healer then you wouldn’t need to use a pass. Mostly they are used to reduce DPS queue times. I spent an afternoon in flex, cap out, then just play DPS; sometimes I get a flex queue where someone leaves and I can use priority requeue to get a fast DPS queue.

I haven’t been able to cash any of them in. Apparently 11 minutes for dps is “fine” and not priority-eligible. You know what else is “fine”? Prioritizing the cat café instead of an actual playable game.

I’m in that boat as well. It did give me the option once and after waiting over 10 minutes for dps I quit and went back to arcade. I want to play overwatch not sit in a queue to maybe get a match.

I typically play either WoW or Slay The Spire while waiting in queue for DPS.

The worst part is DPS players need to maintain and deliver some of the highest (mechanical) skill hero pools in the roster.
Workshops and aim trainers only go so far. If they’re not getting access to realistic playtime, how can they improve? If they’re not constantly in the hotseat, they’re building up rust in a game that barely lets them carry (because tank impact). Let alone play what they want, not have to swap or be reported.
When people do that “reported” crap to me I remind them that both of us are bronze and they wouldn’t do much better.

its quicker to stomp when you’re on defense first and quicker to throw when you’re on attack first
It’s too much.
There are at least 6 dps players per one tank (which is why they have longer queues)
And then you get 6 dps games for one tank game.
What sense does this make?
