Poll: Sombra balanced?

In the old poll made by Fitzy we had the majority of people against her changes. The result was 66% against them with 2.8k participants.

As predicted, her changes did little to nothing for her on ladder.

However she does see pro play. Especially in NA contenders she gets run alot to point where she is almost in every game.

So my question is if the community perception changed about her overall because of this. Whats your opinion on her current state?

Please vote below and share this poll with your friends if you have the time.

If we hit 1k votes i will start to post results every 500 votes.

Sombra is good, I don’t see what everyone means. Infinite stealth, she can hack and completely disable tanks. She is a backline assasin. She has one of the best abilities and ults in the game.

The one thing that I feel she is very poor at is being an assassin of any type.

But she isn’t supposed to be like Tracer and get loads of kills. She is supposed to hack a target, and get the team to focus them.

This thread is not here to convince someone of my opinion. I just want to grasp the general community perception of her state.

So which is it, then?

I saw a pro player play her, so she’s fine.™

She is a backline assasin though, she can go invisible for an infinite amount of time, then hack a target. Either take them out, or get the team to push them. She starts off the fight. She is different to Tracer, Tracer just focuses getting kills. Sombra makes her enemies weak for her and her team to engage.

And if your team is bad, then she’s useless, and not viable, which forces you to switch, because that’s the smart thing to do.

She still fills the same role she has done since day one.

“EMP Bot.” She’s just better at being an EMP bot now.

If your team is bad, most heroes are useless.

No, that’s what counter picks are for.

If your team is bad and you play sombra, not switching will make the situation worse, which basically validates the fact that Sombra is not viable in most situations that doesn’t involve her not being an “EMP Bot.”

Counter picks make bad players good, and good players better.

She is amazing at shutting down enemies. It’s not just her ult that she’s played for. She can stop Rein putting his shield or, or Orisa putting her shield down. She can stop every ability in the game. She also does a fair amount of damage for the magazine size she has.

By the way, can someone share this on reddit? I dont have a clue how to create new threads there xD

The latest patch benefits her a lot, I say it’s worth waiting a week or 2 before declaring her over/under powered.

i think the new sombra is actually really great and good. The problem is not with sombra it’s with how ranked works and how you never get a team that works together. If we had role preference like in the lfg and not get 3-5 dps mains or healer mains in the same team and people would actually cooperate then sombra would be a great hero. After all she seems incredible in contenders so with teamwork you can see her benefits. I’ve even tried her and if your team listens to your calls and follows up on your hacks and emps she is insane…however i have also had teams that dont want to work with me and then its impossible. Overall she is in a pretty good spot

At the moment, pretty much anything stops Reinhardt from putting his shield up.
That’s not really Sombra’s doing.

I think Sombra would probably be ok if they fixed her 1000 bugs.

The problem is that new stealth is much worse at repositioning because of the decreased speed. You have to understand that Sombra mains never had a problem with timers, and the new stealth doesn’t offer us any new advantages, yet we still have to suffer the disadvantages.

The speed isn’t that big of a difference. No one liked having a time limit on their translocator and invisibility because it made them rush and gave them very little time to kill someone.
