Players should get a reward for getting somebody suspended or banned

How are you gonna tell which ones are false if literally everyone reports each other. The data is absolutely useless and going through it manually simply isn’t happening when every player produces 11 per game.

Okay but the reward should be endorsement rating about the same amount that it takes to get from lvl 1 to lvl 2 because if we get an actual reward for it then false flaggin will explode and the automatic report system will start banning anyone who has even cursed at some point

so you would make false reporting even worse than it already is? yeah no. unless they do something against false reporting the report system should just be removed except for cheating

you can false report all you want and you wont get punished, heck I made a post about doing a whole week of games where I false reported both teams and I even said it on the forums, no punishment
AT
ALL
they say “you can get punished for false reporting” but just like how they say that most bans are justified that is a load of crap

Given that the system is automated and that Blizzard has an absolute zero to give towards reports being false or not, this would be SO abused that it’s sickening to think of.

Join a match and get randomly reported for reasons. No, such a system can only work if Blizzard takes an active part in it and checks whether reports are false or not. And that’s never going to happen.

what about the reports that are false? like reporting a one trick for throwing even though jeff has said that IT IS NOT BANNABLE but appearently it is

As always if you are actioned and you feel it is unjustified, you must file an appeal with Blizzard.

A game master will review your case and determine if the ban stands or not.

I have never heard a single case of a ban being revoked except in cases of famous streamers where there was video evidence.

I literally got banned by a THROWER. A person who was standing still in spawn and refusing to play the game unless I got off Sombra. After the game ended I got suspended for gameplay sabotage/inactivity and my appeal got thrown into the dumpster.

You might as well get rid of the report system since toxic people will be toxic anyway and it gets so many people false banned.

More like reward for reporting unpopular picks.

historically things like that lead to witch hunts…

The Spanish and the Catholic inquisitions used something similar.

no thanks.

that is all good and all, yet it only takes 1 example, taken out of context, and it can be something as little as “DO THE OBJECTIVE” so no, that does not work. they don’t even give you the “evidence” they use to uphold the punishment, just says “we have found evidence blah blah blah, the punishment stands” the only people who get their punishments reversed are streamers like Fuey500 who has a following and records all their gameplay to prove that they get falsely reported, AND even though the system says “false reports are punishable” the people who false reported Fuey500? they got NO PUNISHMENTS. anything short of being a streamer and having a following while recording all your OW games and it is a big NOPE from the AUTOMATED system, there is next to no GM’s if any at all that will ACTUALLY look over the report

A lot of people have testified in these kinds of discussions that they got their bans overturned.

You have to appeal again. Everybody that I’ve seen talk about their ban being overturned had to appeal multiple times. Very few people had their ban overturned on the second appeal. 3-6 seems to be a pretty common range for your appeal to be taken seriously, so if you get much beyond half a dozen rejected appeals you’re probably not going to get your ban overturned.

That said, you can’t get banned for a single report, or even from getting reported by everyone in a single match. You must have gotten other reports, and your appeal may be rejected based on your actions in those other matches.

For example, a lot of people who are banned mostly because of false reports for one-tricking fail to get their ban overturned because they once or twice got a little too heated in talking to their teams.

In other words, it only takes one report that wasn’t false for the punishment to stand even though it takes several dozen reports to get punished in the first place.

And thus all the the Overwatch matches will have the same 12 characters every match (again) since all the Non-meta players will be actioned against.

Screw it, why not?

Let the META babies have their tool to make the game commit sudoku (can’t use the real word or it’s English translation) see how long Overwatch stays afloat.

Maybe get these people to shut up for once.

If its a false flag then it won’t get the person banned coz the GM will see that? Incentive to stomp out bad behavior and smurfs though wouldn’t be terrible.

Well the running idea is that if you do something wrong, the GMs see that in the report and do something about it. If you didn’t, you’re fine… so… you know… let logic prevail. Put 2 and 2 together.

@WyomingMyst: I get a load of those. Would be nice to get a little something for helping the community though.

QUICK, hand out gift baskets to the people throwing tomatoes at the people suspended in the town square stockades! Just do it real quick.

lol you think that your reports are viewed by a person? HA it is all fully automated, there is no difference between false reports and real reports because the system has no protection against false reports once X amount of reports has been reached over the period of X time = punishment, legit reports or not. and you appeal? HA auto reject with copy paste giving no evidence on why the punishment will remain and even if they do they will only give 1 and it will most likely be taken out of context

Na, they wont check every report.
Its a automated system.
Thats why there are so many OTPs getting banned.

in a report system that works well, yes. but that is not blizzards reporting system in both OW and Hots from what I can tell

Then the report from Blizzard should say they got banned for abusive chat not Sabotage/inactivity. I have never thrown a single match in my life and got banned twice for throwing.
