Players Are Being Punished For Blizzard’s Server Issues

I’m creating this post after being directed here by Blizzard Support following a Competitive suspension caused by your servers disconnecting me mid-match. I’ve supported Blizzard since the release of Starcraft 2, and this is the first time I’ve ever had to make a public post.

This is not a player-side issue. I provided evidence directly to support, showing that multiple players across multiple lobbies were experiencing disconnects, including streamers like Warn and Vulture_OW who were also disconnected and banned for leaving due to server instability. My internet was fine. I restarted the game, but I was unable to rejoin the match due to your servers not responding correctly. Chat continued to function while matches failed to start or were cancelling outright.

I understand the penalty system is in place to prevent leavers — but it absolutely should not be punishing players for technical failures on Blizzard’s end.

This is damaging player trust, especially when:
• Players are suspended from Competitive & Quickplay for something they didn’t cause.
• No acknowledgment is given from Blizzard beyond “please post in the forums.”
• Players are left scared to queue at all in case of further server problems leading to longer bans.

I’m asking for Blizzard to:

  1. Publicly acknowledge this was a server-side issue.
  2. Improve the penalty system to account for known server instability situations.
  3. Consider removing suspensions applied during these incidents or provide compensation for affected players.

Players shouldn’t be punished for simply trying to play the game when the fault is on Blizzard servers.

Please escalate this internally. This should not be happening in a live service game of this scale.

There’s a good chance the script kiddies/DDOSing trashbags are back at what they’ve been doing for over a week now. All of Blizz’s games have been affected-and it’s all because of guild drama that nobody cares about in World of Warcraft.

I expect more of this over the weekend when the manchildren get hold of their mommies (they don’t have gf’s) credit cards.

It’s definitely an issue with Blizzard or DDOS. I have been disconnected twice today right when a comp match starts. I never get disconnected unless my power goes out. Fix it please!

You all can check this If you get randomly disconnected and nothing works if absolutely nothing works for you

Been a problem since Season 11. Not a peep out of them at all, so I doubt they’ll say anything. In fact, some posts and comments on the forums are being removed for demanding an answer, which is not a good look.

I wish I had the answer for you. I also run a high end gaming pc that runs ANY game at best settings but this game has serious issues. It crashes every game and just like u , I got a penalty now. Blizzard has never responded to me btw. This means they know the game has issues and they will never tell this public.

Why can some play and others , with high end pc’s crash ? Let me know if you figured it out or got a “helpfull” answer from blizzard.

2 accounts now suspended. I have internet. Everything else works. I’m done.

maybe try changing your MTU, it worked for me, look on web how to setup it properly

Yeah in name only. Tell that to the battlepasses you can barely earn anymore because of this. It wouldn’t be a problem if they had unlimited time.

Totally agree. I am incredibly afraid if I will be able to complete this season. I am going for the All star Stadium challenge but I loose both rank, groups and get banned for each DC. I don’t know what to do at all. Have been a problem all season. Can you do anything if your account gets suspended? Is your rank and seasonal rewards just lost?

its ddos…they have been doing it a lot lately whenever Im doing good or being too overwhelming for them.

My ping would drop hard then no internet. I went to check the logs in my router and ipconfig…found the reason. It was ddos attack from an overwhelming amount of packets being sent to me by unfamilar IP… When it happened again, I reported it to Blizzard with evidence…ive heard nothing back from them beside their automated message.

We have a group bragging about doing it / taking credit for it yet the support here have their heads in the sand saying it’s something we have to do to fix it instead or nothing is going on.

They even attacked Twitter yet their support is also just as worthless when you show them what they are saying and doing even on their own site.
