So I won 7 of my 10 placement games. 2 of the games I lost were very close. 9 of the games I had 40+ eliminations and overall good stats. I placed 60 SR from where I ended last season (not the high, where I ended).
If I did not have to place and gained 25 SR on every game I won and lost 25 SR on games I lost, I would have went up 175 SR. Given that with winning multiple games in a row I could gain more than 25 SR, 175 is rather conservative considering my performance in those matches.
Placements are a complete waste of time, especially the 2nd+ placement. The first placement is also somewhat meaningless because the game uses your quick play matches to determine your MMR before you even queue for a competitive match.
Why should I have to waste my time with these 10 games if I only gain 60 SR for winning 70% of them.
You’re still in gold, so you’re still affected by performance rather than the win. You could gain even more SR with better stats in your matches. It could explain why you went up 60 more higher.
I question where mines will end. I ended at 3903 SR in High Masters. I won 4 games so far and took a break for the day. I went against 3800 to 4500s SR players. Some of them were top 500s from Season 13.
What’s funny though, is if this was still the same season. I might have hit Grandmaster for the first time assuming each win was 25-28 SR.
I had high stats in 9 of the games. If they were non-placement games even gaining the minimum with decent stats would be higher than 60.
who cares about placements u have like 3 months to climb a rank u desire lol
It’s a waste of time. That’s why I care. You gain less than you would playing normal games. I would rather start where I left off last season and play normal matches.

idk last time i won 9 matches i got placed +50 where i left
The biggest request I have is a change made so that you cannot group up for competitive if someone hasn’t completed placements.
Overall, I’m getting sick of having placements rank me low plat / high gold, and then every season climbing my way back up to where I was at ~2800
It’s been like this almost 4 seasons now
