Placed on incorrect Server - Central America

Usually, I log into the NA server where I typically have latency of around 80-90 ms. Two days ago, I started noticing that my latency rose to 160+. Checking network stats, it showed that I was connecting to a server with an IP of 170.84.208.155. Normally, the IP of the server I connect to starts with 24, which is the NA region. Here are the WinMTR stats that have been requested in other posts. Since I’m not in the US, I am opening a new thread also as requested.

Hello Drakuloth, I’m also experiencing problems like other players, but I’m not in the US or Canada like most people, I live in Costa Rica. However, NA servers are where I have always played and I get an average of 70-80 ping. Now since about 2 days ago, I’ve been placed in the SA servers, with more than double the ping.

Hey there, I hope you don’t mind, but I merged the topics together since it appears to be a common trend of Central America getting routed to the South American servers instead of the LAX or ORD servers with better latency :slight_smile: Updated the title for reflection as well.

Thank you both for your tests! We’ve seen high latency reports for Costa Rica in particular, but we are keeping watch for other areas experiencing the issue. We have a thread on-going on our Spanish Technical Support threads.

Would you both mind running another test for 10-15 minutes if possible to help us compare the data? We’re still gathering information at the moment!

For anyone else this thread is relevant to, please post a WinMTR test. The first test should be from the server you’re currently playing on. The second test needs to be done to the normal game server. For the most accurate data, please run the test for 10-15 minutes to help stabilize the packets being sent!
