The reasons are “normal distributions” and “standard deviation from mean.”
It’s literally an algorithm that measures your performance. If you got on a scale and it said you were heavier than you want to be, would you get mad at the scale or your diet/exercise choices?
What I assume happened and I might be wrong but I assume op stopped playing a while and then came back recently because he makes a post about placements when there are like 8 days before 2-2-2 I think. Also op is a goldenborder player so he has obviously played the game quite a lot. so my guess is that he played placements and placed plat because that is where he was before and then he is now unable to play at that level. There is another alternative where op won a lot of placements and got a huge sr boost from mid gold ish and then lost because he couldnt play at that level yet, then he went on a losing streak. Just because you place at an sr doesnt mean that is where you belong.
I may have not been in my right mind the past couple of days… i think i just started to get frustrated and started playing whatever i felt like… cuz people are picking like 3 dps and expecting ONE healer…
i started to play like i wanna win now… and im slowing making my way back… meaning… i been playing alot of HOG and healer lately… i def. should be gold… ive been gold every season…
i think i just got tilted and started throwing unconsciously and was not being a team player… once i started being a team player again… the wins are coming back.
Ex. We had two leavers on our team… and my team, played as team players and we were able to Draw that game… 4 vs 6…
There is no forced loses. I managed climbed to silver few times, but fall back to bronze because of my play. Can’t maintain silver rank due to my play.
What an interesting turn of events just 1 day later
ill get back to gold for sure… its just a matter of me keeping me not tilting… and saying f-it… when i massively dropped, i was in a pissy mood, didnt care about having tanks or enough healers and didnt communicate anything…
now that im starting to claw my way back… im communicating, calling out targets and so on… its 100% a team effort and if you dont be a team player you will drop like i just did.
Sounds like a lucky 8-2 initial placements, and then correction down to silver. Not everyone belongs in Plat+.
Everyone in bronze placed higher initially. If you don’t belong in silver, keep playing and you’ll climb right back out.
ive been gold every single season… and usually touch plat… ill get back to gold at a minimum
Games are not rigged or anything like that. Especially the week before the season ends, games tend to be super messy.
But maybe you were just unlucky or unaware of a mistake you were doing constantly. Overwatch is known for being very grind-y so just keep on playing and focus on the things you do! I’m pretty sure you can climb back up!
Sometimes I think people are willfully ignorant of their own poor play.
Had a Roadhog crying about how everyone was terrible blah blah blah.
I spoke up and mentioned
“No one wants to hear your complaining, do you not think we haven’t seen you basically throw your Hook at that Reinhardt barrier every time it’s off CD? You haven’t landed a single one yet lol.”
He didn’t have much to say after that lol. Especially as the very next Hook was right at the Reins barrier just bouncing off and doing nothing yet again.
Yeah, these people are everywhere
But hey, they’ll stay where they are while we rank up
back to gold at least… pretty easy to get back to gold if you just are a team player…
hha yup. When I first got into Overwatch, I placed in Gold and immediately went down to Bronze. Not sure why it placed me in Gold lol
Same here. Placed 2000 and deservedly dropped to 1300.
Or top 500 Tracer places in plat on new account after placement games where he’s beating people 1v6.
Utter crap.
im the OP, i placed plat dropped to silver and now back to gold…
i already stated i was super triggered and started to
unconsciously throw… once i started to become a team player and filled it was easy to get out of silver… plus if you heal, you must call out enemies whereabouts so the team knows… you should also tell teammates to back off or they go running in alone and die.
non team player mentality = drop SR
team player mentality = win SR
its that simple, you can close the thread.
your initial placements are about as meaningful as your first grade marks are about your choice of profession
all you need to have is a few good/bad games (leavers smurfs on your team) and your rank is way off the actual rank you belong at.
after 30-50 games you can safely say that your SR reflects your skill
I would say even higher, like 50-100. Naturally this also depends on how far off from your actual rank you are in the first place.
Hmmm…
Group with diamonds if you have that much prestige and are still stuck in low ranks. Or switch to Reaper or Pharah and carry yourself on gamesense until enemy teams figure out how to fight back.
